Yep, a good burger gets ruined by a lousy bun. I've had a burger where the bun was just too flimsy, I don't want everything falling out while eating it unless I got too many toppings.Bread in the US is world renowned... for its awfulness.
San Francisco and Alaska both have great sourdough (from their respective gold rush eras), but aside from that good bread is hard to find. I was amazed how much better a fast food burger tasted in Europe and it wasn't because the cows were different, it was that the bread was so much better.
Now has Betty had Olive Garden's bread sticks? What people miss the most when it left Ontario and you would have to drive to Buffalo to eat there.
