Yes, except... repression doesn't work. NEVER works.

By cutting legal access, you create a black market. And worst, you create a fetish.

Just see the results of the "War on Drugs", compare U.S. results with (for example) Portugal with de-criminalization of consumption (along with several social measures).

The solution is to never forbid access, just help minimize the excesses. By creating a fetish, they drove teens to alcohol, the same way that where sex-education (the real one) is forbidden teen pregnancies are WAY more common. Not only because they don't have knowledge and access to good sex practices, they also live under a restrictive social code that fetishises sex by condemning it.

I could explain further, but this isn't the place or the time.

Peace :(
I think 21 is better than 18 to be honest, it's really not any more repressive than any other drinking age. It either needs to be early introduction with responsible consumption, like I understand a lot of European countries do, or actual adulthood. 18 makes it too easy for 16 year olds to get alcohol, and also introduces kids to drinking when they're at a rather precarious point of development. I had a relatively healthy relationship with alcohol from about 15-17 then when I hit 18 I went full fucking loser drunk getting wasted literally every day for weeks on end. Now I'm an alcoholic and literally can't have a healthy relationship with alcohol. I can't help but think that a better developed pre frontal cortex before I started drinking, or an early responsible introduction to it would've given me a much better chance when I got to drinking age.

Since I had no restrictions on buying or consume alcohol, not out and about and none at home, I was never really that interested. I did get drunk a few times at 16-17, HATED the experience. I could drink a few beers, or whatever, but always stopped before I got too drunk. Cut to my 20's. In that decade, I got drunk 2x, both by choice, both on special occasions. I also became a father, and that was the end of it.

Until my youngest was 18, I rarely drunk anything stronger than ONE beer at dinner and a soda at any other time. Getting drunk in my 30's and 40's didn't happen. You see, my second wife is a nurse, she worked night shifts quite often (too much in my opinion) and I was at home taking care and being responsible for 3 kids, I didn't dare to even drink that sole beer. I could have (and did) to drive at any time. The thought of being under the effects of alcohol and not be able to take care of them, was enough to make me choose sodas and water every time.

The main point is, I do enjoy a drink, and now that they are adults, I do drink (much to their surprise).

Peace :)

Also, you have Newport much closer to Santa Barbara than it is.
Newport isn't Newport Beach. They are different places. Newport is where Morro Bay and Baywood-Los Osos are so, according to Google Maps, it's 1h50 (107 miles/171 km) from Santa Barbara.
My mistake, but it's a colloquialism of Orange County to not call the beach cities by their full name. Locals refer to Newport Beach as Newport, Laguna Beach as Laguna, Huntington Beach as Huntington, etc. This only refers to Orange County though. Long Beach and Manhattan Beach in LA county for example are referred to by their full names.

Yup. I used to live in Redondo Beach.

Special Render (XV) - Meemaw

You know MC's relationship with Olivia always advances when they coincide in a bathroom, right? Even if that bathroom is imaginary. It started when the MC caught her pumping her breasts, and will advance every time they share a room where there is a shower or a tub.
Three fewer days to end the interlude. I'm eager to start posting previews for 0.17!

The only thing I can think of is the "Rollback side" option in the game settings might have gotten turned on. I had that happen in another Ren'Py game and it took a bit to figure it out since it's usually set to disabled by default, but sometimes with patches or even replaying games it gets toggled somehow.
Hope you can get it sorted out!

Thanks, Estuana for giving the solution. I wouldn't have thought about that and would spend two hours looking at the code.

No worries, I have no idea how or why it happens but I've had the same issue in other games so it was worth suggesting. I'm just happy it worked!

Well gang, only one more week till the public release of v0.16!
Make time for it in advance, and expect fun, sexyness, and even a little bit of sadness!
Great chapter, TropecitaGames ! Loved the reactions of the family meeting Eva, especially sweet Erika's!

Thanks, Grifter! I thought basing the lunch on the reactions instead of on the invitee worked better (once the round of hugs ended).
