In general I agree with your view that I may have been too aggressive on the first response.

He rubbed me wrong, not exactly for critiquing the game, he hadn't even played it, but, by his attitude towards everything, like it was made to annoy him.

I could have been the bigger person and let it fly by, sure. The thing is:

1- If I had, we would have to deal with that attitude anyway and for longer. That 1st post was a test. He was trying to see, maybe even without noticing, what the limits were and with how much he could get away with.
2- I am not a confrontational person, but, I also hate bullies. He entered here as if the whole point of this thread was to serve him, expecting everyone to be polite to his rudeness, as he is undoubtedly used to. He barks, everyone cowers to not make a scene.
3- Because I value the community we created here, I have to be intolerant of the intolerants. I can't see any polite and respectful way to face up a bully that is effective, they don't respect or even understand that language.

So, sorry if I caused an incident, but the intention and the deliberate way it was done is, to me, more important. No bullies, never again.

Again I say, I am a pacifist, but I am not Pacific.

Peace :)
All good. You seem like someone who says and does things deliberately so I'm sure you had the best intentions for the community at heart. Just thought I'd bring an outside perspective on this altercation and the community as a whole.

Sorry for hijacking the thread for a bit, I'll go back to lurking again, starting now.

Feedback is good. After all, how can someone improve if nobody points out what could potentially be better?

This is a pity because it is nice to hear different opinions. As long as we don't end up arguing. I hope you change your mind

Since you brought it up. In general I don't think this a welcoming community. Innocent questions are (by some) answered mockingly and it feels like some of you are gate-keeping. The slightest critique towards the game are met with outright hostility, again, from some of you.

I'm not talking about my personal interactions mind you since my rudeness got dealt with as it should and I bear no ill will towards any of you. I'm just speaking in general terms.

With this specific user i think it was a bit rude making all those assumptions (even tho they, from the looks of it, was pretty accurate you should've probably given him the benefit of the doubt). Since you all have a great deal of respect for the dev and he engages more than any other dev I've seen on this site with this community I feel you owe it to him to welcome new members and portray both the game and the community in the best way possible, even if someone is a bit rude or asks stupid questions. Why not be the bigger person instead of stooping to their level? I kind of feel that you should reward the Dev's behaviour with promoting his game by being an awesome welcoming community.

Just my two cents.

Edit: forgot to add, props to you FatGiant for actually asking the question if you were in the right or not, it shows that you care, something that's pretty rare on the internet nowadays.

I think FatGiant's answer only had a problem. He quoted the guy's second post instead of the first one, when he was really rude.

Other than that, I agree with some of your points. A lot of time, we (me included) answer questions that have been answered a lot of times before with a bit of irony, and sometimes irony goes out of hand or is misunderstood.
I (we) try to be helpful (some of us answered that guy's first post before FG with a neutral answer, even with his rudeness). Sometimes our help isn't welcome or someone insists on their rudeness, then another someone goes all guns blazing and the thread is fucked up for two pages.

I try to accept any constructive criticism (if exposed politely). If someone enters the thread with a sentence like "The game went downhill the moment a fat student, a student without boobs, and a student who looks like someone threw acid on her face", I will defend my design choices (politely in the first answer most of the time), but I understand people who are fans of those students won't be happy (and not only because of the rudeness that sentence means for fat girls, girls with A-cups, or girls with vitiligo).

I think we need more ex-lurkers. ;) Having people disagreeing with things (in a civil manner, like you did) is a great way to grow as a community. So, you are invited to abandon your lurking and be more active on the thread.

Trope95 why did you break the replay of the night between kiara and mark into two pieces? In the end it's one replay.
Because the tone of the scene changed a lot. While in bed, it's romantic and loving. In the bathroom, it's more wild and kinky. So, being a scene so long, I thought people who wanted to replay the wildest part (or see what the different outcomes in the watersports choices would be) didn't need to go through the bed part.

While I realize that they do have both an inground swimming pool and a hot tub thing, really, the MC doesn't have time to add playing water sports to his activities list.....he's trying to help run a business and keep like 20 women happy and protected :) ;)

and sexually satisfied. And so far he does not spend his days in bed satisfying 10 a day. That could become a problem. And when he returns from Aruba having left them in abstinence for months???? How will he get out alive?

Kim is beautiful. I just can't understand the Vitiligo hate, but maybe its because here in Detroit we have news anchor Lee Thomas who has talked about the condition and written a book about his experiences.

Boh. I remember Detroit never made it to a Super Bowl. I also remember Barry Sanders. Of course I remember him. What a running back. But news anchor with vitiligo... mmm... no I don't remember.

Don't be mad, I'm kidding. I'm just a football fan and I loved Sanders.
When I hear or read the word <<Detroit>> the first thought is Barry. Then I hear or read the rest.
