Am I the only one that finds this game shockingly bare bones and unambitious compared to the dev's last two games?
I wouldn't say "shockingly"; especially after the dev shelved their last project - a smaller scope with a reasonable development goal seems entirely sensible to me in that context.

But yes, after playing this update I was musing about the scope of this too.

I think for me it's
1) the neutering of the minigame. I get why people wouldn't want to play time-pressure shop support, but if you remove the time pressure, it's really 100% whatever. It only checks your ability to ... read. Even porn game players should consistently manage that. ^^ So there's really no gameplay in that sense at all. And you easily make the money and it's not relevant for anything else.
And 2) you are entirely confined to actions within your home where you really only do Hangout for Affection or Handcuffs for Desire. And you do not make any choices again, either gameplay-wise or narratively. So once again it's super confined.

At this stage to me I'd probably prefer it as simply a visual novel. Gameplay implies to me that you actually get to do something mechanically and there's not enough of that to quite justify for me the whole earning-money-go-to-next-day loop.
... obviously with all the usual caveats of "it's just 0.3 who knows what's planned".

Am I the only one that finds this game shockingly bare bones and unambitious compared to the dev's last two games? I was there for the early releases of MIST. It just felt like it had so much more scope and more going on than this does. Even at the same early stage. The girl is very pretty though.
As developers get more experience, they get better at making games. They also get better at making games simpler. This happens with most developers, because making a game is VERY difficult. It is hard to balance the quality, and the complexity.
They may even get burned out if the game is too hard to make and abandon the idea entirely.
Then there is always the looming time constraint as the players ask for the game or even loose interest if the game takes too long.
It is a difficult balance to maintain. I think 395 is just trying to balance all of these problems and not give up entirely.

I don't know. It's hard to support the dev with another game. As they abandoned the last one when times get rough.
The dude wrote MIST, one of the best games ever. As MIST ended, he seamlessly launched Morn, such that we would say goodbye to MIST and roll directly into Morn. That was a bold, player-focused move.

The easy thing would've been to write MIST II, but he clearly wants to be creative and tell unique stories. So he penned something entirely different from MIST--what a breath of fresh air in a world dominated by various re-tread stories packaged as "universes." Right?

Unfortunately, once Morn got off the runway and gained some altitude, he realized that he wasn't happy with Morn. Fortunately for us, he had the integrity to tear it up and start over. That really sucked. We, as the audience, and he, as the story teller, had a lot invested in Morn. It took a shit ton of integrity to write to us in many updates his growing lack of faith in Morn. Admitting failure is a hard thing to do, even harder when it's a creative thing that you've exposed to a wider audience.

Unless you're making art yourself, you likely have no idea how much backside effort goes into a work of creative art. As a consumer of art, it seems so very easy and effortless...and so easy to critique. Making that art? As someone that does art for a living, there's a reason why artists frequently burn out. You have no idea how much 24/7 grueling work goes into seeming to be nonchalantly brilliant. There's a reason why we have substance abuse problems. Product is easy. Actual art is really, really hard and it takes a toll.

And that leaves us with Handcuffs...

Having been a pretentious asshole that told you what you should think about MIST and Morn, I'm not going to tell you what to think about Handcuffs. Time will tell.

That said, I think it's fair to say that 395 deserves a bit more good will than you're willing to give. On the other hand, if Handcuffs implodes, like Morn... Yeah, you win. ;)

Ah, yes totally "unofficial" patch. There's absolutely no incest written inside the base game code by the developer if the patch only changes a single variable, trust.

But hey, nonsense aside, at least the official patch here changes a bit of the dialogue instead of just some low effort name change.
Still though, it's so cringe that devs that don't wanna switch platforms have to do this sneaky shit. I'm still waiting for the day every adult creator abandons that shitty censored potatreon site once and for all to show actual protest in a meaningful way.

Good game overall, but there are a couple things that are really dumb.

1) If you know you are being watched by a crazy cult, why are the windows not covered?

2) The game is based on male dom and builds up that MC can do whatever he wants to Jenny while she's cuffed, but there isn't even an option to creampie her.

I haven't even gotten to the handcuff part yet so I can't give an honest review. (bedtime snuck up on me) But I have some serious questions and complaints.

I saw we can skip the work mini game and I see upgrades to help skip tickets and all that but... This is too much like a real job. So much clicking around, navigating text and data fields. It's not something fun. It's not a quirky, symbolic representation of selling your soul to a corp it is how you sell your soul.

Second, this isn't customer service, it's doing their shopping for them. Customer service would be like issuing refunds (or denying them) or fixing incorrectly filled orders.

So if anything the mini game would be more like Papers Please where you approve or reject silly returns. (no returning used condoms dumbass)

Not that a game like the would be fun necessarily but you get the point. Type of game is Menu Navigating 2025, content of game makes no sense.

amazing, few games have sensual scenes for this type genre and they always seem like they are in a hurry to check boxes and get it done. This one does.. Absolutly top tier!

I won't comment on the "earning money" part of the game experiece as I outright skipped all that through cheating and getting enough money that I don't need to interact with that aspect of the game. I'm just not a fan of grindy and repetitive stuff like that.

Aside from that this is what I can say about the game so far in what pertains to it's quality, presented characters (which for now is just the MC and his "totally-not-sister-wink-wink") overall presentation, quality and narrative - it is incredible. Amazing, really.

The story is still very early on but there is already a bunch of hinted lore that is quite interesting, with room for it to be quite deep.

I'm not sure if the dev intends to add other characters into the game and make it a harem, but the way it is now it already works very well imo.

It's top notch, top shelf and I heartily recommend it.

Only downside, if it could even be called one, is that the last update felt (and indeed was) quite short, content-wise. What WAS there, however, was of extremely high quality.

It'd be great if every update came quickly and was also hefty but hey, that's a tall ask for any dev. Regardless, I love this one and was very pleasantly surprised by it.

I'm hoping there'll be a new update dropping soon!

well looks good but you just abounded a game so i don't have high hopes for this one.
The scale this new game wants to achieve is very much reigned in compared with CoM, the dev made a bit of a post mortem of their last project, even if that event is still a bit raw, and is planning their future project accordingly so even if their previous work got canceled they still have my support going forward. If they were trying the same thing I admit I would have some doubts but the way they look at their work is kind of reassuring in a way.
