First of all, Happy New Year to you, and every other perv that might be reading this post so soon into 2024.I agree with that possibility of Aida just being petty and Misaki could have little to do with hurting the MC and it's not in her character to screw over the MC. So it was likely just Aida's petty revenge for the most part. Yes, it is END 06. The son does eventually move out or run away and re-establishes relations with his father, since the MC is aware of where his son is and they keep in touch. The MC found it strange that Misaki never re-married, despite nothing seemingly stopping her, and then when he saw her again at the owner's restaurant, she was changed. Misaki had really suffered and gained weight and her appearance and changed according to the descriptions. Perhaps because of guilt, shame, and regret that the MC had to suffer for her mistakes and their divorce, which she really wanted to avoid at all costs. I think they still could've gotten back together, but the issue in that END was that he was withand he avoided for Misaki to see him again because he knew it would hurt her more than him.You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. You're right, it is funny that Aida never wins
Happy New Year!
At the end of the day, I suspect that we need to take most of the non-Fin endings with a grain of salt. Much like those weird Dead End branches that don't quite make full sense in terms of WHY they're dead end branches. After all, even if Shiobara dies early on in a car accident after seeing the thing with Nao, that wouldn't actually impact the majority of the story, just the endings much later on.
To an extent, I feel like a bunch of the early endings were written to allow someone without a guide to get used to how the choice system works in this VN, which in turn allows them to navigate to the more complex endings eventually. Because of that, a lot of the early endings needed to be light on the details, which where then added in much later in the Fin 1 and Fin 2 branches.
Speaking of, I wonder why they made two Fin type endings... It's obviously impossible for a game to have two True Endings, and from what I've seen, the story doesn't have a direct sequel (and thus no more presence of the MC and Misaki), but I understand that it has an indirect sequel, a three part story that involves their son. And if I understood correctly, Aida also appears in those and claiming that he was severely traumatized by big tiddy tomboys or some such.
If that is indeed true, I personally believe that Fin 2 is the True Ending. The reason for that is because it's in this branch that Misaki goes nuts on him, threatens to kill him and fucks off with nearly all of his home-made AVs. I think some people in this thread commented that they believed that it was Endings 2/3 or some such... but I don't think so. In those endings, Aida wasn't traumatized by Misaki. He was depressed and angry, but he wasn't traumatized or put off. However, in the Fin 2 branch, Misaki moved from just saying that she still loved her husband more than Aida, to actively demonstrating that even with all his training, she could and would absolutely defy him the moment he genuinely crossed the line completely.
That in my opinion is a pretty solid gut punch for him, a demonstration of his complete failure in making Misaki actually love him, as well as his inability to control her through her urges even after years of training and fucking her over 100 times and whatnot.
I imagine most NTR bastards would be extremely shocked if the girl they thought they broke turned on them so completely.
The fact that she latter actually gets back with the MC and they eventually fix up their life almost life nothing happened at all would likely hit him even worse, because the news would reach him. I have little doubt that Kurokawa and Chinnen would be petty enough to rub it in his face that his dickery failed so completely.
On a different note... another funny thing about this story is that, by modern definitions of NTR, Aida really was NTRed at the start of things. He was a close family friend of Misaki's family, he was an older brother figure to her, he loved her first, in his own twisted way... and then MC rolls in and steals her away from right under his nose. Written a little differently, it could have been a revenge story where Aida did indeed win back what was rightfully his. What's even MORE funny, at least to me, is that I think that if he was more forward with some things earlier on and didn't play stupid games, he could have gotten Misaki in his bed before MC ever appeared in his life, and she'd have totally been his perfect slut AND happy about it all in the long run.
Amazing just how much nuance there is in this hentai VN.
