Yeah, I just tried again and I cannot use those cards on my own game so at least that's a concern out of the way. I think i tested it back then and I don't remember being able to use them either which why I assumed no one else would.



Yeah. I am making a game with the character. I want to show the character to the public since she is one of the love interests of the game. I don't think that means I'm consenting to people using her in their games, especially when the caption says: 'hey I'm making something with her'. Moreso when I believed discord was erasing the metadata on its own and the cards were unusable.

Fair enough with the consent. Might have been years ago but still that channel's purpose is to share your cards to others. If it really were just a screenshot, it wouldn't have worked. But you shared cards and he might have been around that time. Unfortunate really.

This one was the first character I ever designed for a game, the first character I ever commissioned and one I'm very attached to because of the moment I was going through at that point in my personal life. This character is mine. She was meant to be one of the main love interest of my game. You didn't even bother changing her a bit. Even small details like the cross pendant and the watch are there. You didn't even ask for permission. You stole her design. You have no right to use her for your game.

I am asking you to delete her from your game and any image where she is present. Im asking nicely for now since it might have been an honest mistake. I highly doubt it since you also decided to straight up lift Max from life is strange. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Remove my character from your game.

A lot of you probably dont give a shit about any of this and are her for the porn. That's fair, no shame on it. But for the people that care a bit about the artistry of making games, I'm asking you not to support the dev. This clearly one shady son of a bitch and you'd be wasting your money and time on a project that can't even bother designing its own characters.

If it sounds like I'm mad. I am. Hope that can be understood given the circumnstances. Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.

If anyone has any advice on what could possibly be done if this dev doesn't do anything about it, I'd be glad to hear.

Sure, as long as she is not actually a part of the game - because like I said, she is part of an ongoing project in development - I don't mind her being in the banner art. I've done enough render in hs2 to know those are a bitch. We'll just call it an easter egg or smth.

Good that the dev is doing the decent thing about this, but these are Illusion assets. You own absolutely nothing from it and your consent is outside the realms of decency irrelevant. They're technically stolen assets the moment you try and commercialize them. Illusion, or whoever purchased or retained all of Illusions rights after they folded, maintains ownership of anything you make with the software. I get that you're attached to them, I'm the same with my OCs, but outside of just asking or making it publicly known that they're yours there's nothing you can actually do to make someone not use your creations. Be careful about sharing your cards in the future, if someone has them they can use them and there's nothing you can really do about it.

Yeah, I understand. While I'd argue that since the game is now hand-drawn by an artist I probably do own the character legally, I have no dellusions about the card or the illusion model being anything other than free for everyone to use. Sucks, but there is nothing I can do, i get it. I'm just thankful it was an honest mistake and the dev did things right. (Probably should edit the post to reflect that)

Also, even if I could copuright it, let's face it, this is a porn game pirate site. It ain't like anyone would do anything about it lmfao.

UPDATE: This was a strongly worded reaction to what I believed was a disingenuous dev stealing my characters. This is not the case. This was an honest mistake; mostly on my part for making her character card public. I've spoken with the dev and the issue has been resolved.

If you hadn’t made the card public and that dev had actually stolen your character, there still wouldn’t have been anything you could do because that character belongs to Illusion, not to you. I know it doesn’t sound great, but that’s the reality. Still, I’m also against devs using these kinds of cards and assets exactly as they are. At the very least, they should modify them a bit.
