I really like netori and all, but fuck...
The game's premise and inciting incident are just too fucking stupid.
So the primary antagonist/girl was a bitch to the MC in high school. How bitchy? No idea. She outed the MC for writing a sappy love letter in class, that you see in a nightmare/flashback. That's it. One, that's fucking weak sauce. Next up the MC notices a woman shoplifting gum in a convince store. He later pieces this together and figures out that the woman is both a regular petty thief, and is the aforementioned bitch from the MC's past.
What does he do? After hiring a private investigator to stalk this woman and catch her stealing gum, he tries to blackmail her with the evidence of her petty theft.
So let me get this straight. The MC plans out a revenge blackmail and rape scheme to get revenge for being slightly embarrassed 10 years ago in high school, and his leverage is evidence of petty theft against someone who is well to do.
The high school bullshit is a non-starter, and certainly not 'you ruined my life, now I'll seek revenge' type material. Blackmail is 1,000% worse than petty theft, which is something that would otherwise get you a proverbial slap on the wrist and a few hot-takes in the celebrity gossip press.
