I will think about offering my rating and review for this game, but I'd like to forewarn you about something I noticed with other AVNs. If I leave a review (especially a critical/negative review it seems), I have to be very careful about how I word the review; otherwise, someone will find a reason to report it, and a moderator will remove the review.I just gave a rating of 1 star as this is not where this story should go.
And everyone that feels the that way should give it a 1 star rating too. I'm moving on to other games now. This for me is over and done with
I had one review removed because at one point I mentioned one of the game's tags, which was to note that having this tag doesn't necessarily mean that certain extreme content will be included. This was only a small part of my review, but instead of the moderator deleting that one sentence, the entire review was removed.
Apparently, it was based on the following general rule:
3. Kinkshaming is not allowed
- Do not complain about tags in threads or engage in discussion about the tags themselves. It is fine to talk about how a given fetish is implemented in the game, but whining about something clearly visible in the tag list is not
I don't believe I really violated that rule (and it was just a small part of my overall review), but what am I going to do, argue with the moderator about it?
I had another review removed because the moderator said that I focused too much on dislike of the MC. While I did express my dislike of the MC, that definitely was not all there was to my review.
Then I had another review removed because I mentioned that the game deserved a 5-star rating in part because I felt it was underrated. Instead of the moderator removing that one sentence, the entire review was removed; and I received some kind of warning about reviewing for the sake of the rating. However, that was only one remark I made, and I had offered substantial review content beyond that which addressed different aspects of the game.
Those are the instances that come to mind, though there may have been one or two others.
So maybe I'm a fool who doesn't quite get it when it comes to all of the sacred specific rules that are supposed to be followed when posting a review. Or maybe there's a tendency among some users to report reviews they don't like (such as critical/negative reviews), and some moderators are highly sensitive to enforcing any perceived violations of certain rules.
Whatever the case, it's discouraged me from writing reviews on this site because I risk taking the time and making the effort to write a detailed and thoughtful review only for it to be removed because of something I said in one sentence out of many. Perhaps if I write reviews in the future, besides being mindful of the traps I already mentioned, I need to just leave a brief review (consisting of no more than a few sentences); that way, if I again have my review removed for some reason or other, then at least I won't have wasted much of my time and energy.
