I can't speak for this particular situation, but there is a reasonably solid subset of authors who make that kind of content and purposefully remove the tag because they want more traffic for their game, especially on itch.io. Hell it's the reason I switched over, nobody respected the tag system at all over there.
I do wish people would stop doing it, and trying to force their fetishes into the faces of people who find it gross. Short question to the community, who has more experience with this novel. Started and opened some options for the male MC in the option list. Stopped after two hours.
