That was there long before you could actually use it. So the implication of it being there at all, was that the MC was inevitably going to get badly humiliated, and that generally means being constantly belittled and put in chastity, in these types of scenarios.
Yes, the Dev could have made this into a different kind of hotwifing game. But since he set out his stall early on, that the MC was going to be a classic cuck, who is increasingly humiliated by his wife, why would he do that?
That's a very generalised interpretation of what hotwifing can be. There are subcategories within the lifestyle, that don't necessarily follow that pattern. And this is one of them. In any case, it's not necessary for the cuckold to 'reclaim' his hotwife in the bedroom. Their relationship extends beyond just sex. She chooses to spend the bulk of her life with him, whereas with her lovers, it's purely about sex.

This game has no netorare in it. Both husband and wife have mutually decided to follow this lifestyle. Netorare is when one partner is forced to accept the other cheating on them, albeit getting sexual pleasure from that, whilst hating it at the same time. Much as I love cheating whores, it doesn't look to me like the wife will cheat on the MC (at least not anymore). Technically, you could say she did it a bit, early on. By not completely confessing everything that was happening to her. But I think at some point, she guessed he was spying on her, and just carried on the charade, because he never said anything. And at no point, is the MC ever deeply concerned by his wife not being completely honest. But they've now reached a point in the game, where anything like cheating would be meaningless. The MC has pretty much told Bella, she can do whatever she wants, and he'll love it anyway. She loves him seeing her be a complete slut, and he loves her being one. So why would she want to deny herself the satisfaction she gets, from her hubby knowing everything she gets up to?
Yes, Bella has been buttfucked, but I don't think the MC has eaten any creampies from her ass yet. Yes, there is humiliation in this game, but no, that doesn't automatically make it netorare, as you appear to be suggesting. It's the context of how the MC is humiliated, that makes it either netorase or netorare.
That appears to be what the visit to the Psychologist was suggesting. Not something I initially envisaged at all.
I'd kind of guessed by that point, the general direction of where this game was heading. So I just went with it.
