I want to give theorizing a try, too.
Beginning with what I can see in the picture:
To me, this looks like a scene with Vivian and Hutch in an office. I am nearly certain it is Hutch's workplace. The tables are just the same, as are the trees in the background. Also, Hutch is wearing a either a jacket or a long-sleeved shirt, clearly office attire. Hutch has his hand on Vivian's face. It is daytime and the computers are powered up (white screen), even if we don't see other employees it is reasonable to assume this happens during office hours with Vivian visiting the office, perhaps in her "Ms Dubois" persona.
Interpretation of the gesture:
Why is Hutch holding Vivian's face? This could mean a lot of different things. However, my first impression is not aggression. Hutch is holding her chin, not her throat. Vivan does not move away or defend herself. Her arms are not raised. She has some level of disapproval in her eyes, but she does not seem fearful or aggressive, she allows Hutch to touch her face like this. That, plus SC stories assumed we would get it wrong, which again makes me even more certain it cannot be aggression. Instead, I would assume it might be Hutch taking a closer look at her face. He is almost angling her face to the side so he can inspect her right cheek.
More importantly, what could bring this about? In Hutch's office, Vivian presents herself as Ms. Dubois, by her maiden name. Hutch getting close like this might give away her cover (perhaps the reason for Vivian's disapproving look?).
Speculation on the Image context:
I am now leaving the observable image going into speculative territory. What could make Hutch hold Vivian's face like this and inspect it (assuming non-aggression). It is difficult to predict.
I have a theory, but it is a bit out there and admittedly affected by my strong pro-Addison bias. In another post I have speculated that Addison knows about Vivian being Hutch's wife (as administrator she has access to W4 tax filing forms and his marriage license), which would explain why Addison was so hostile to Vivian in chapter 1 when meeting her for the first time, before Vivian even said anything. What if Addison learned about Christian sending Vivian to see Mr. Reese, and she casually remarks this to Hutch to drive a wedge between them:
"Hutch, look at Ms. Dubois. I overheard my uncle saying she went to see Mr. Reese last night to get the signed contract and was r8ped by that old pervert! Apparently, she let it happen and walked away with the contract. I told my uncle let's go to the police, but according to Christian, she did this voluntarily and even enjoyed it! I cannot believe it, what a slut! In fact, if you look closely, you can still see petechiae below her eyes from being strangulated, even though she tries to hide them under thick layer of makeup. But just like her age, she cannot hide her petechiae entirely. Gosh, what a terrible slut. I am almost glad she is single, can you imagine what an insufferable cheating whore she would be if she was married?"
Husband is holding her by the jaw. That is a new thought, so far, we have thought it must be Boss. She is wearing the dress that we chose for her to wear to an important meeting with Boss. I think if Husband has not treated her that way so far, he is not likely to start now, not at the office in front of everybody. I think, Boss. He would be the one with the nerve to do that at the office.

Do you still think she still only wants to be doing this temporarily in her mind? The vibe I got from her, at the end of CH2. Was that she was going to try and make it a more permanent thing now if anything.
What with the whole "I'll stop pretending now. You've won and I belong to you." thing she had going on.
Yes that is precisely what she thinks. Boss accepts her demands of him, and she gets to keep Husband. It is much too early in the game for such certainties though. Husband has yet to do his chpt 3. which also ends on a cliff hanger.
Somewhere in cpt4 it might be time for some certainty. About a year from now.
Not to bombard with questions or asking for a ton of spoilers. But I am curious of her sons roommates/friends will play more into the story sometime soon?

She is an unreliable narrator. Due to her being a delusional person who believes she is in control of a situation she may say one thing but be thinking something else. This is just my perception of her, feels like I am reading a bipolars thoughts and words. She has been in the majority of the chapters and I feel the DEV hasn't given us enough information of or if her true intent. Like they left out a piece that won't be revealed till later. Not sure that makes sense but I believe there is more to her actions.
SC has definitely said there is much more that we are not seeing now that will be explained later.
How does this competent, determined, rational, long term housewife, school teacher turn into a woman crazed for the dick of a homewrecker? You bet there is a big piece missing.

Agreed. Other threads I have been around have not needed it.
One time on BaD, there was this guy from Columbia, SA, who objected to a certain behavior of a certain female game character towards the mc. He said he would never accept that from a woman, would do this or that to her. The debate got a little angry with guys saying hey, this is only DPC's (who is from Sweden by the way) fantasy for us to enjoy, why get upset? One guy finally mentioned that the objector was from Columbia, a country with a strong Spanish culture which tends to be much more macho than other parts of the world. We should all be aware of cultural differences here on an international forum. That did it. Everybody including the guy from Columbia understood and settled down. Moderator not needed.
I would add that this forum is the only one I have found where some players actually think badly of women in general. I am sure that Columbian men do love their wives.

But I feel like that CH2 ending was her TRULY coming to terms with the fact that she now. Can not, and will not. Let go of Christian. I'm fully now expecting her to go home, and try to convince Hutch to "trust her" enough to let her make this a permanent thing. We'll see what's up sooner or later though I suppose.
Praying for the downfall still though over here!...
Except that she defends Husband to Boss, etc. Part of her demands is that she go home to Husband at night. Even when Boss insists she stay.
You aren't seeing the whole picture. She wants to have Boss and keep Husband too. She thinks she is going to get that, as she walks out of Boss's door.
I would not expect that she would be any more truthful with Husband now than she has in the past. Thus, at the garden party we see them walking in arm in arm. SC does suggest that picture is about to change.

Where one partner asks to open the relationship, so they can fuck somebody they have lined up already. But then as soon as the other partner ALSO finds somebody of their own to fool around with. And starts enjoying the benefits themselves. The original partner then wants to close it back up immediately. And go to fucking couples therapy or something. Because that wasn't supposed to happen!!
I don't think she'll be willing to do that IMO. I think she's gonna ask for it to only be open on her side. So she can continue to have her own fun and be a selfish hoebag. Just more in the open now.
And I pray that it goes as bad as possible for her. And I get to witness some downfall here...

I don't think she is really with Christian. If she was she could have stayed the night and gone to Hutch in the morning. At that point the agreement to come home to him would be void. I (still) think there is something they are both planning. Note the recent preview picture where they come out of Christians room and she is leaning on Hutch.. Body language there is not one of separation.... Just my opinion. We'll see !
For sure. But her hope is to have both. As her satisfied expression shows.
If you are going to hope something, that is as good as any.
But, SC says that there are hidden things going on that will be explained later. So, this might actually be a better thing to hope for than many.

I doubt Vivian and Hutch are planning something together. She is a terrible actress as we saw in Christians office or how she behaved towards Hutch after her cheating. I saw nothing of this in the end of chapter 2 and if you were in Hutch shoes would you trust her ? I wouldn`t, not after all he had to endure, the night at Christians house, the toilet at his workplace, in front of his house and her behavoir after her long stay at the hotel
From my point of view their marriage is beyond repair
In the picture you mentioned I think Vivian tries to asure Hutch that everything will be fine but he is not having it, he only lets her try. I don´t see any affection towards her
Considering the things that SC has said about this game like

Husband and Wife do in fact still love each other, this being the basis of the conflicting emotions that they need to resolve, and in spite of the apparent destroyed nature of their marriage.
And how many players seem unable to take those things into account in their understanding of the game:
One might be tempted to see chpt 1, especially that incredible ending, as bait for horn dogs, who now line up to wish evil things for Wife and dispense disgust on wussy Husband. Bait to get them hooked expecting more of that delightful 1st chpt stluff, only to sideswipe them with a big nasty happy ending for Husband and Wife somewhere around chpt 5.
