No. I do not. That's assuming that a leak actually does negatively impact the numbers who would have pledged in the first place, I'm sure someone more technical minded might have or be able to research the data, but the oppositional argument to that is that it brings in more patrons via this site functioning as advertising for free. Who knows?
Jaike morphnet anne O'nymous Count Morado c3p0 despite our differences you do seem more adjusted to digging through data (I can as well but gain no enjoyment from it), have you any technical knowledge or data as regards the impact of early leakage viz a viz lost or gained income to devs?
I am all for developers earning money for their work. I am opposed to developers paywalling their in-development work. It's a major reason why my preferred developers are those who offer their in-development product for free to the public, and offer subscribers other bennies.
For the most part, sites like F95 should be considered a marketing investment (no revenue/no expense) for this and other developers who are building their product.
Is this dev losing money from piracy? Likely not. 90%+ of downloaders on this site would never subscribe, anyway. Of the remaining 10%, the developer may gain subs they never would have had without the pirate sites from people finding their work and wanting to support.
