whats with the rumours of this dev getting busted & the cops taking all their stuff??

false accusations by someone who now fled the country. its all in their discord in the weekly updates
read about the police raid and I don't know what to say excepts that's F***ing Bulls*** cops raiding your house just because someone says something bad about you if it were legal my house would be constantly getting raided cause I've got a bunch of Karen's for neighbors.
anyways here's a bit of advice that might help with your situation try talking personally to the people who reviewed your hardrive and get them to point out what they consider illegal about it then point them to your disclaimers and tell them that their are legal adults who don't look fully mature even in real life. they should have to drop the investigation immediately and return your stuff at that point or you can sue the government and if file a complaint about them to their superiors to try to get them suspended for harassment reasons and abuse of power so it doesn't have to go to court

cops are just doing the things they need to most likely just being slow as the accusor has fled the country. i believe its german law ? and what i know from those laws its rather a lot more strict than anerican laws.
it is pretty easy and works 99.9% of the time and if it doesn't work get public opinion ony your side cause the cops may enforce the law but the laws are made by the people the cop usually drops it cause they don't want their record stained and if they don't drop it and the complaint goes to their superiors and the superiors will force the cop to drop it or suspend them to save face for their department
you mean like all the livestreamers getting swatted for exactly that? a clearly false claim about the streamer having done something that a few seconds of thought could disprove ?
You know how easily it is to fake screenshots etc that show that you said some incriminating stuff? Thats basically what this guy did to get his head out of the noose, which was apparently enough for the cops to raid my home and seize my equipment, yes. Just think about all the cases where people got falsely accused for something and the cops basically treated them like everything they are getting accused of is true, even though in the court it turned out to be false.
It doesn't matter what I try to tell the cops, she has her view and her view is "This guy has incriminating stuff on the harddrives, the characters don't look old enough" even though all my games are still widely available and are on Steam etc.
You can read up on a lot of similar cases in Germany where false accusations basically lead to people losing everything they had just for it to be turned around and they were actually innocent. Didn't bring them their old life back though and they have to live with this shit for the rest of it.

He's in Germany. I'm not sure where you are, but everything doesn't work the same everywhere, and while it sounds like you're in the states, it isn't that easy here either. It depends on region, the ability to garner positive public opinion -- something that would be difficult considering the genera of work even here -- local laws, which may be different than national or even state laws, etc.
Either way, he's been working with his lawyer for over a year ... I would hope if going public was a viable solution the lawyer would have helped facilitate that by now. I'm not sure a second opinion isn't a valid option, but just threatening the police when you're still technically under investigation isn't necessarily the smartest thing to do.
Also, despite what you seem to think, getting a search warrant based on the confession of a caught criminal isn't exactly that rare in the states either. Once equipment is confiscated, you have to jump through hoops here to get it back too, and if there's any corruption -- or in this case puritanism I suppose -- in the department, the chance of you struggling to get your stuff back wouldn't be low ...
Oh, theres like hundred of those things in the app store as well. Fake whatsapp, Fake telegram, Fake signal... It's fucking insane. And since they can't see right away that it's fake, they assume and react on that base. It's a nightmare.

I'm really sorry that you had to go through this.
There are a lot of psychopaths who LOVE nothing more than to ruin other people's lives. And what makes it worse is most of the time they can get away with it scot-free.
But on a positive note, at least you didn't go to prison(trust me, some guy living in kangaroo land wasn't that lucky), and you still have your fans who know you and will support you emotionally & financially until you get back on your feet and help you forget about this Bullshit incident.
and also... I don't know if you noticed it or not, but you gained a huge amount of respect from this community. because most of us if not all made peace with the idea that you might give up after what happened to you and we wouldn't blame you if you did.
yet here you are, coming back with a prequel with the same level of quality as the main VN, and still engaging with us as if nothing happened.
and for that, I tip my hat for you.

It's a shame to really see this going on for so long, I'd hoped that by now Killer7's stuff would've been thoroughly checked and he would've been clear of any accusation, it really shows how little does police care about doing things right, since in a case like this, it could heavily affect the livelyhood of someone, I don't know how laws work around there, but I really hope you can press some kind of charges to whoever falsely accused you, and if you can, even to the government for taking so long with their investigation, I can imagine you've lost quite a few supporters by this, because it's been going on for more than a year if I recall?
Also can't blame people coming in and asking if it really is abandoned, if they just use F95 as some kind of library and check from time to time, only really checking on VN's that get tagged with "completed" or "abandoned" and following new projects that look good for them, I do that myself, and only know about Killer7's situation because his games have been my absolute favorite works in this entire website, so I put more attention on him. And also, his situation is pretty unbelivable (meaning very unfair).
Hope to see you getting things sorted soonish, if not because I'd really love to see this game finished, because I can't really imagine how frustrating it must be for you to know your shit is being held for nothing, and most likely just sitting there on a box while no one is really looking through it actively.
