And then you gotta hit'em with an ultra SSR 5 stars 4th of July limited time offer American flag bikini Ana skin! Only 49.99$! Basically a steal!

Btw, I haven't played a single gacha game, so I don't really know what I'm talking about.

You gotta work for it! Sometimes literally. Say, DTZ Games, what do you think about some microtransactions, eh? Give your players a well-earned sense of pride and accomplishment? Add a bit of... gacha? Some common, rare, epic and legendary skins and scenes?
Wtf are you people talking about? None of these are sandbox, these are corporate stockholm baby game design!

Haven't played this game in a few updates- can anyone tell me in spoilers how far the NTS content has gone so far (flirting, blowjob, actual sex, etc)? Last I checked, the MC hadn't confessed his kink to her, so I decided to let it cook a bit longer. I prefer to wait until games have proper hardcore NTS stuff before I play them, otherwise I usually feel kinda blueballed

Awesome, thank you so much for the response! I think that design philosophy is almost always better for the overall product (more investment, emotional connection, etc.), so I'm excited to see how it turns out!
I love stacking content from shows and anime, but I just can't do that with games

Unfortunately, it's really common to have that blueballed feeling you mentioned

Out of curiosity, roughly how frequent are chapter releases?
wouldn’t 3 chapters essentially be telling him to wait until end of 2026?
Nowadays I'd say each chapter takes around 3 months to be released, so logically Chapter 07 should come in August/September

Obviously, every developer should do what they wish with their own game, and not be bullied one way or the other.

That said, I feel that sandbox elements add a LOT to how much I enjoy a game if done well. Being able to choose where I go and who I interact with next makes the whole experience a lot better in any game. It certainly doesn't need to be a RPGM format that a lot of people associate with the word. Just a simple map where I can click to go to see that place or that person next. Even if there is absolutely zero change in the story outcome at all, I still like that, as it helps me mentally break it all up.
I would agree with this, if the game wasn't a Kinetic Novel. The whole point of doing what you said is to have a choice, but in a Kinetic Novel, you don't actually have a choice, besides seeing a scene or two in a different way.
If the choices had a big impact on the characters and/or story progression, then I wouldn't mind it too much.
I personally abhor sandbox elements in Visual Novels games, because they make things feel like a waste of time with the amount of clicking and whatnot, but that's my view on them.
For example, I like DS3, but hate Elden Ring, and only because it's an open world. In DS3, yes, it is more linear, but your choices still make a huge impact on the story and characters, Elden Ring takes that and now provides you with a huge map where you can go anywhere and everywhere, making progression a little bit fucky because you go into some areas where you shouldn't, and now you're under leveled, a certain character died/left because you didn't go to zone A first, and etc.

My point, for this specific game, I would recommend not putting a Sandbox option and leave it as it is. It's implemented properly as it should and unnecessary complications are not needed.

If the dev decides to, maybe one day, create a new game, that isn't a Kinetic Novel, then if they so wish, they can try the Sandbox method. I would still support.

Well, we like basically opposite things, in both porn games and mainstream games, it seems. I struggle to enjoy anything that's purely linear, in either case. The sandbox/open world element keeps me glued to it, or else some kind of mission format, where the player chooses what to do next. And my hope is always that games with other content that I enjoy will go in that direction, because for me, its massively better. There are a handful of games on here that seem to have everything else that I would want and like...but because they're a purely one directional VN, I keep finding myself playing a small bit of them and then just not feeling it, and putting it down again.

But again, its always the devs choice either way. I just throw my two cents into the conversation if it seems like a good time.
