It's not working. I downloaded it, extracted it, clicked on bokudaka2.exe, and it just shows a window pop up for like one millisecond before it disappears, and then nothing happens after that. No matter how many times I repeat it, it's the same.

So i foung the issue, it's related to the game being very old and using DX9. I've installed DX9, but so far I could not make it work on my pc even if I run it in compatibility mode for win7/win8. How's everyone else solved this ? For clarity : I'm on Windows 10

Renaming the game folder (i.e. removing all the Japanese characters from the path) stopped the crashing on my PC. There was no need for me to use a locale emulator.

Is your problem related to D3DX9_43.dll?

It doesn't show any errors, a window just blinks for a single frame, a couple milliseconds (possibly the game window), when I click on bokudaka2.exe and then nothing happens. That's it.

Wait what the hell, following redstiletti advice and just renaming the folder from Japanese to English fixed my problem! It was that easy? Nice.
