As a heads-up for those who don't follow his Patreon posts, Mega won't have any update until the 20th of December.

My guess is he'll use the time to add in the last bits that the game is missing (such as the final area and any missing enemies/bosses) and fix up the shop and various locations to make the game more balanced.

I can't find this in the thread or on google but I downloaded this and an older version, in both the "New Game" button literally does nothing and I'm just stuck on the opening screen.

The version here is the same one as Mega's Patreon, and there is the version on Itch. Anywhere else is likely malware or full of viruses.

That said, did you extract the folder so you could run the program inside?

Yes I got the one from here, yeah I extracted it with 7zip. It's weird because most of the rest of the buttons work. Like I configure settings to lower the menu music. Click to visit Patreon. I just receive literally no reaction from Continue or New Game.

Could be a bad download, that's known to happen sometimes. Try redownloading it; if that doesn't work, you might need to check online for a solution.

I tried all of the mirrors and extracted each. I deleted the appdata folder it was housing data in between each attempt and the New Game button never worked in any of them. Weird, oh well. Not the first game which hasn't worked on my hardware configuration from here and won't be the last.

I'm pretty sure I had the same issue when I first downloaded this. A lot of games (including this one) will break if the file path is too long, so to fix it, just move the game to a place that isn't inside a bunch of folders.

Ah that makes sense. I store these types of things deep and inside some strange blank space character named folders.
