I disagree. I still use Flame Sword over doublejump because of its versatility. Its biggest boon is that it both gives you i frames, and it deals damage, which are both very useful in a lot of air infested areas. (like the fairy areas in hills. good GODS theres so many of them x....x) Its also usable as a triple jump if you have double equipped.

I'm not saying it's better for combat, but specifically the platforming and exploration. So many of the early stat upgrades that you had to hunt for ways to reach or be clever with how you used monsters as platforms are just... trivial to get when you have a double jump that early. Like, "why would you go around this complex path with multiple monster zones and tricky platforming when I can just double jump over the first wall" trivialize.

Pretty sure that ability never left, you may just have to search for it some more.

I did a whoopsie and forgot it was a different button combination than the dash/slide lol
For some reason I remembered it being the same input as the magic shield thing...and I vaguely recall reading a post of Blue Sphere saying a long time ago that they were thinking of removing or altering something because it made traversal too easy or the like, figured that might've been it.
