I agree completely. The one upside to discussing others is to give people who enjoy those games more ideas of things to play. In most threads I follow that is one of the most common questions asked 'what are some other games like this?' So that helps with that a bit.
I am not bias against HS games, any more than any other 3D style game art, but some are better than others, and this one one of the best. (Wish I could figure out how to get the nipples to poke out like that).
Whole the art is important, writing, plot, and game mechanics all play a part too. This one gets high marks in most of those categories. The art is good, the open world mechanics are well done, the story and characters are written in a way that makes me care about most of them and want to learn more about them.

WA's was my first harem eroge which I had played before, followed by HH and MM immediately after i've done with one, all of these three were picked by me even without knowing their reputations
Seeing how a bunch of ppl here avoiding HS based games, I guess I'm pretty lucky for having a good HS games during my first three
At first I was kind of wondering the reason of why they avoid or even hating HS pretty much, but after never getting tired for playing HS games, I'm kind of understand one of the gist of it
Out of 40 HS games which I've had played so far thanks to f95zone, imo the number of game which (majority) considered as good are pretty low, in terms of artwork, premise, pace of story, and while actually won't be a really big deal at first: a broken engrish which (kind of) ruining the story because it's hard to understand by the reader (player)
Still, I won't mention any shitty games from my experience because I'm always convinced that with some more effort, they could produce a better game later while at the same time keep promoting any good HS games to them whom seem avoiding it, unless they're basically just dislike anime-ish artworks

i thought this game was abandoned. 2 months since last release. i stopped my patreon back in the end of november. might resume if the new update is good.

Jikie clearly doesn't have the drive to produce, with each release continuing to receive less and less content.

I don't think it's the lack of drive that is affecting the amount of content, i mean this is one of the most supported games of this type with over 7k dollars each month. That's plenty of drive IMO, i think the problem is they are needlessly adding more things to the game that nobody cared or really asked for. It's no secret that this update is being delayed because they hired a composer to make brand new music for the game...
I don't want to sound like an ass, but i genuinely couldn't care less about things like that and all of this could have been avoided just by adding non-copyrighted songs like many other games have if you are that much concerned with avoiding the game having complete silence.
People will always care about the amount of content with each update(that's number 1), the sex scenes that are put in whether they are good or bad and the girls that are being featured in the update.
I can't really imagine anyone going "man i really enjoyed the MUSIC with this new update, fapped 5 times just to the background noise alone". If things like this are hurting your update schedule, it's probably best to rethink your approach.

I can already tell you somebody will complain about the choice of sounds/music, forcing them to turn it off. Why's that a problem? Well, if content has to be held back in order to get enough time to add something like music/sounds, people are gonna be salty and salty people are bad for the forums.
On that note, I wonder why they bother to hire a composer, as you pointed out, lots of great non-copyright music exists. Somehow, I get the feeling that the music thing is just an underhung reason to put out something while cutting back on actual content that they either haven't planned out just yet, or aren't sure on what the entire story is going to play out in.

Well they did say that while the guy is composing they're also working on adding more content into the update, if that's true we aren't losing content in anyway. But if the update comes and it's just a regular sized update with nothing special other than the music then we can know for sure something fishy is going on.

And that is exactly what I am worried about - if content is going to be held back, I'd be quite disappointed as I really enjoy this game in particular. Guess I just enjoy the characters, despite, or maybe because of them being basically walking stereotypes.

Happy holidays everyone! ❄ Here's an update, since I know a lot of you are wondering about v0.8.0 of Mythic Manor.
As you may know from our last update, v0.8.0 will include many improvements to the game, such as music and sound effects (and content too).
The majority of v0.8.0 is already finished. Most of the content we originally planned to include in this version has been added. We've also added the lewd & normal sound effects and a large portion of the music and ambience.
The composer we hired is in the process of creating the last few songs. Initially we were aiming for a mid-December release, but song creation takes more time than we'd anticipated. The music is a big part of what we wanted in this update and it's already coded in, so we'd like to release with it. Please be patient, it's worth the wait! We are very pleased with what he has done so far.
We will get the game to 99% completion this week and if there's still more time, we will squeeze in even more content than originally planned. Though keep in mind, we will be busy with family for a few days during the holidays.
Once the music is ready, we will be able to release v0.8.0 very soon after. We'd just need a few days for final testing and finishing touches, then it will be available here on Patreon.
Again, we really hope you understand and we appreciate your patience! We'll post another update as soon as we have the release date for v0.8.0.
