I bought this game on release on Steam and enjoyed every minute of it. I didn't even know this game has been in development for so long.

I can't wait for the other part(s)!

I'm hoping all the lessons I've learned making Book One will make the future instalments come more quickly. Or at least better.

Imo the game is very good already, the only thing that really has room for improvement are the graphics (both models and backgrounds), but that is "easily" done with a combination of the experience you got with book one and improvement in the technology since you started with this project.

I really love the personalities of the characters. B is by far my favorite and I would love to find out more about the Detective (forgot her name). :) So far we know almost nothing about her except that she has a very powerful ability and that it's unknown if she really doesn't believe it when other characters mention it, or if she just acts that she doesn't believe it. Seeing how she acts however, I'm pretty sure she's just acting.

The gorgeous redhead is Mara. I must said she made it very difficult to remain faithful to Tara.
Just don't tell her she's Irish :ROFLMAO:

Wee, a complete game! Well, Book 1 anyway. That's always great.

But I feel my expectations were too high. The setup to the mystery is interesting, but (maybe with the exception of the gala) the rest of the game felt mostly like it just kept introducing new characters instead of anyone doing any real clue gathering. What got turned up was mostly incidental, and then it's just at some point over with a "guess the villain" moment.

I was pretty bored by the sexy times. The visuals I don't mind, really, but it didn't feel like any of the scenes or characters really had anything going for it that was different from the others, and the relationships stayed pretty superficial and not very interconnected.

And while the characters do have unique personalities and that's definitely a positive thing and not at all to be taken for granted below the surface the dialogues gave me very strong "ICQ-chatlog-from-2003" vibes. Unfortunately that made the characters feel like, well, characters. And not very much like people at all.

... well, it was still mostly fun. Maybe I'll try Book 2 at some point.

I actually wanted to take an actual break from Mythos to recharge my batteries. When I did announce my break... I was still working on Mythos, with the 1.1.0.0 bug testing and the French translation. I didn't really start my break until late July, and I'd decided to myself that I'd stay completely off of Mythos stuff until after my birthday.

My birthday was yesterday, and I had one hell of a weekend. Well, it was a hell of a weekend for me - it was us and four friends doing Korean BBQ, a private Magic draft (Duskmourn, in case anybody was curious which set), Parks and Rec Trivial Pursuit (those questions are really hard, even for fans of the show), and my first ever game of Mario Party. I'm taking today to recover before I post a big ol' news thing wrapping up Book One, discussing how it's shaping what's going on in Book Two, and maaaaaaybe something about "Ask the Cast/Dev".

I also got a new cat.

I know your older cat has some health issues, I was worried he might have died.

As someone that owns Book One on itch, I'd be ok with an SFW release on the platforms+NSFW patch elsewhere. Well, with ok I mean "if that's the only way NSFW games can be commercialized, that's the way I'd have to support it", but I'd vastly prefer for steam, itch&co to fucking step up and fight against these reactionary shitheels. And well, anyone else to actually combat these anti-porn, anti-sexwork, anti-queer PoS.:censored:
