Weekly Update - June 15th, 2025,
Nine is taking a break?!
Read this one after a while and it's fantastic to know the Steam release has gone splendid since then. Am seeing analytics for Mythos and it has been so great to see them promising, not a surprise though as was sure it will do well. Also nice of you to take a pause between the books, will be definitely interested to read another of your log when you resume posting them again!

Thanks for reading Dev, best wishes for ahead:)

There's an easy solution to this:

Just play the game. Focus on the main story. Enjoy it and stop obsessing over minutiae.

Then you can go back later, replay the game, and try to get all the little things you missed.

Honestly, if you're trying for full achievement completion on your very first run, you're generally ruining the game experience for yourself no matter what game you're playing. Don't do that.
Yeah you're right. I started doing this and enjoyed Chapter 2 way more.

As it was shared with me, so shall I share it with all of you. Use it wisely.
Presenting the Chapter 3 ... Chapter 4 Achievement Guide.

Something is up with the upload of the complete version of the guide. I'm waiting to see if the person who made it can figure out what's up.
Still nothing?

Do the LI paths make any difference? Does it worth pursuing romance with every single one of them in terms further lore or secrets revealed?

Harem is Pokemon. Gotta get em all.
Also, pretty sure it's completely irrelevant to the story itself. That said, I do believe that the harem vs. solo relationships are relevant to the characters (especially Tara) but since I haven't tried non-harem yet, not sure.

I finished two playthroughs and the relationships simply didn't add anything new. They are not like Leap of Faith, Being a Dik or other games like those. I had only two relationships but they didn't matter at all. Not even a new epilogue was opened by any of them.

Too short!
Don't get me wrong, this game is very good. I really liked the characters, but I think it moved too quickly. It would have been better if there had been two more chapters showing his relationship with his girlfriend and best friend two years earlier, with things slowly progressing until the breakup, then time passing, and then the supernatural entering his life. This way, we would have more time to get to know the characters and the situation better when the big reveal finally arrives. The whole situation was thrown together so suddenly that nothing really leaves us emotionally invested. I believe games like this benefit from using concepts like slice of life, as the Japanese do, to gradually ease us into the situation.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

As for the relationship aspect, I think that's largely due to the adaptation from the source material. The novel I wrote that Mythos is based on had no romance at all; it was a pure magical murder mystery. The main character was asexual! I decided to add love interests and market it as having adult content to get more people interested in the story. That's why the love parts feel "bolted on" for the most part: They were never part of my initial plan.

With Book Two (and other stories moving forward) I'm going to refocus a bit to give more personal character stuff, instead of just the "main plot". That's why I've reduced the cast in Book Two, without having any plans to make it a "smaller" book.

(I noticed you posted this on Steam as well, so I'll also post this response over there!)

I never actually even pursued getting it published, sadly... but I may in the future, if there's interest! (Which apparently there is, at least from one person!)
