As for artists that draw in "that kind of style"... Do you truly believe that this superflat style is what any ambitious artist should be aiming for? Is it any wonder that one can hardly tell who's who, or who drew what anymore?
In low-budget manga industry, where comic artists are expected to churn out dozens of pages within ruthless deadlines; yes it makes sense that characters would look so dull and samey, especially when the plot is what defines and drives the whole thing. But anywhere else? It just feels... mass-produced, with no identity or distinctive style.
But hey, if it's quicker to draw AND sells better to boot... Then why the heck not?
And BTW, I never said the animation was bad. It's just Mona's face that looks exactly like every other nameless doujin character you can find through a quick GIS. By all means, that walk animation was sizzlin' HOT, as was the rest of the video.
