Before I start downloading, how much of a difference is there between the 1080p and 4k collection? Should I eat the storage loss and go higher or is the smaller 1080p just fine. Also, how bad is the compression for the 1-49 file?

Depends on your own screen resolution and how much storage space means to you really. If you have 1080p, you'll gain nothing by going 4k. If you have 1440p, it's pretty much a luxury, but very unnecessary to go 4K. I don't have personal experience with screens above 1440p, but at that point 1080p will probably look ugly to you. As for your second question, I don't typically download compressed archives, but the difference tends to be almost negligible for an average user, or else it's just a terribly done job.

Assuming you have actually downloaded an actual magnet file for a torrent client and you have an appropriate torrent client like uTorrent, BitTorrent or QBitTorrent, then you should be able to have your client open the file automatically by double clicking it. If your OS comes up saying it doesn't recognise the file, then assign the magnet file type to your torrent client. If this doesn't work or loading it from within the torrent client, you could have some security feature (Anti Virus etc) stopping it, in which case, you have to figure it out.

You need a torrent manager that supports torrent hashes, like Qbit. Then you go to the option to add a new torrent link or equivalent then paste the hash in the text box that opens
