has anyone written a level guide or tips of sorts?
There are not so many tips to give. Mine would be:
1) The desert maze has four jewels. Whenever the maze walls are up, locate and destroy those jewels. This will deactivate the maze and even the ground permanently.
2) At Chaos Realm, you can dodge Oni's club throw and pick it up from the floor. While equipped, you can hold RMB and release it to throw the club. While it won't kill neither Kitsune or Oni, it will stun them long enough for you to stand in front of them and assert dominance.
3) Full power sword can unleash energy slashes that travel indefinitely. Use this to destroyt Nakara's tentacles on the sides of the arena.
4) The Beholder cannot be killed no matter what, so stop throwing rings at it while floating in the sky (it's useless).
5) As for v1.0, IMO, Ring Magnet is the best upgrade you can get. It will allow you to rush levels, especially Dark Forest which is the most annoying of them all.

When you suck up enough rings with the right click, your character will hold one in his hand. Pressing the suck button again will have him throw it in a straight line. Some blessings can add additional bullets and AoE.

While you cannot shoot the beholder in the sky, you CAN hit her while she's running at you. If you're confident, and have the sword or ring in hand, you don't have to hide, and hitting her once will send her back upstairs.

I'm gonna keep that in mind whenever I step an inch past the shadow. Thanks.

The time frame is very tight tho, It's not worth it tbh instead of waiting for it to close it's eye. 2 hearts is not a fair tradeoff.
I think it's mega worth it. Actually hiding every single time makes the stage a real drag. It's a bit sus to hit her with the ring, but if you have the sword out, the walls go transparent so you can see which way she's coming from.

Unless there's always a way to see her coming, and I'm just a dumb dumb.

I heard there's a 1.2 now?
If i recall there was like 2 rooms empty in the gallery. Maybe that's why, the game isn't "fully" completed yet
Nakara 1.0.2 – Hotfix

A new feature has been added to the game options that allows switching between OpenGL and Vulkan renderers.
This was introduced to resolve execution and graphics issues occurring in certain PC environments.

Graphics Issue Fix
  • This problem is caused by certain graphics cards being incompatible with the engine.
  • The solution is to switch the Rendering API to either OpenGL or Vulkan, depending on compatibility.
How to change the setting:
  1. Launch the game → go to [Option] → [Video Mode]
  2. Find Preferred Rendering API
  3. Choose between OpenGL ↔ Vulkan(default: OpenGL)
    • If you encounter a black screen or graphics errors after launch → switch to Vulkan
  4. Restart the game after changing the setting to apply changes.

Save File Migration
To keep your save data from the previous version:
  1. Locate the file gzdoom-username.ini in your old version’s folder (e.g., gzdoom-redspike.ini).
⚠ Do not copy gzdoom.ini, as it contains engine-wide settings and may cause conflicts.
  2. Paste gzdoom-username.ini into the new version’s folder.
  3. Launch the game – your previous save data will load automatically.

Anyone want to share which levels have special game over scenes and how/when they unlock? Someone mentioned losing in nightmare forest 3 times, anything else?
