It's the politics of the fictional world the dev created it has no bearing on the real world. Why are things like "let the dev tell their story" or "learn to separate fiction from reality" only used when they're convenient?
I mean, I could point out that I mentioned several times, that I have no problems with the politics of the world, just the way they are presented, I could also point out, that I explicitly separate the story from the political agenda.
And that I even literally wrote, "Tell your story."
Politics get mentioned, everyone agrees about them, I as the MC get the option to disagree, but then either my reaction gets dismissed immediately OR even worse the MC is swayed instantly by whatever the next NPC says.
That isn't telling a story, that is forcing an agenda onto the player.
Why does no one disagree with what's happening? Why can't I even as the MC not have a different opinion? It's a rather divisive position to just declare someone Chancellor without an election, it is in fact what happens in dictatorships, it is very close to how fascists and Nazis usurped power in Italy, Spain and Germany. Of course, if it is part of the story, it should happen that way, but why is everyone so undifferentiated FOR those changes? That isn't in any way what would happen, these things are pretty controversial. Just like nowadays we have people who actually want authoritative, powerful governments, who aren't subject to scrutiny, and who say so, despite the majority still being supportive of democratic systems, this would and was also the case the other way around.
However, here this is presented as the only right way and every single important character agrees about it, and again, even if you as the MC don't, it's either declared irrelevant or the opinion is changed instantly.
I hope you understand the difference between telling a story and preaching now.
I read books and comics both by conservatives and liberals, I don't care for the politics of actors or directors, only for whether they are good at what they do or not.
I also know that someone's positions will always play some form of role in what they create, however it shouldn't be in the form of preaching or a lecture, it shouldn't be obvious and slammed in your face repeatedly. It shouldn't seem as if the message is more important to the creator than the story and characters. IMO that is the case in this game and that is why I criticize it, not because I don't want the dev to tell their story or because I disagree with him, it's solely about the way the dev's political agenda takes away my (non-political) agenda as a player, by making my decisions irrelevant or even completely pointless.
And if that is what he wants to do, that's also his decision to make, but why then have options anyway, like I wrote in my first post, if there are no real choices, remove the fake ones and sell the game for what it is for now, a straight kinetic novel.
