Nah man, i think MC would have (kinda easily) beat her if he went all out from the beginning. But he has the Son Goku curse and does the thing where he only "transforms" gradually during the fight (his eyes get blue or red and so on), he didnt even used lasereyes or something.
Rin is not super deep but imo has more potential and backstory than 98& of the LI's and shes not in the captital in the first place because of the mc, shes there because of her ninja thing and just got distracted by the knowledge of mc being there.
And shes at least had her first time together with the MC so there is at least some reason for her infatuation unlike the other 40 fucktoys who are so deeply in love with the mc too
Yeah the twins did so much without the mc, traveled to their shithole and waited for mc the rescue them ........
Luna belongs to the better ones tho i agree but its honestly a low bar

There's literally no indication that he didn't go all out and he hasn't used the laser eyes since the beginning of the game and rellies way more on wind magic. Imo this is a bunch of cope, he get knocked flying early on in the start and onyx gets disable then literally gets a fatal wound that he only managed to survived because he absored the heal crystals then after getting back up he gets frozen into a solid block of ice.
The dude lost and there was no real indication that he was ever holding back. Mc literally says in his own words that Diana is stronger than he is. The whole point of the character is that she's supposed to be around his level so after this arc is done he gets a powerful ally/sparing partner since he outclasses everyone else in his circle.
She only left her village and joined the assasain group because it gave her a chance to travel and look for the mc again. Idk imo I'm not really interested in Rin at all. She's the same as the other LI if not worse.
Because he did lost. Like I said above she delivers a fatal blow to him twice and he only gets back up because of his regen abilities and even then he was out for a good 30 seconds each time. Essentially he lost twice and then had a managed to get a draw in the last round.

idk I think he was holding back some or just not smart. There was a few times if the MC had the laser eyes ( depending on your save) it would of been game over for her if he had used them. So the fact on saves that have that power a choice is never given to even use them makes feel he was holding back to a small degree. But I think he was going mostly all out probably using something like 70-80% of his max power
It makes no sense for the mc to say "she's stronger than me" only for that statement to not be true and argue he's holding back. Mc hasn't used laser eyes because the dev forgot about them and hasn't used them since like chapter 2.

well there is also the fact Buu said a while back he was holding back so there is that. I just don't think he was holding back that much. That's why I said 70-80% of his max power.
2nd paragraph he said he was holding back and not fighting fight for survival.
i'd have to replay the game but pretty sure sure we used laser eyes once or twice around the pirate arc or after but yeah he barley uses them

I think he was holding back as well, but for a different reason.
MC & Diana knocked each other out, got fished out of the water by Diana's crew, and put in the same bed to recover. Surely the crew must have noticed that the MC was such a good guy (tm) and that he was holding back the entire time. Why else wouldn't he be bound and gagged in some cell below deck?

I just think it was a domino effect him holding back prevented him from going all out since she got the edge the entire fight. That and I just don't think he is a good fighter without using his powers. Then im sure the fact she was a Admiral for the King made him not want to try to kill her but knock her out. So believe what you want I still think he was holding back to a small degree which is why I think he was only isng 70-80% of his max power, even after he realized how strong she was.

I mean im not arguing he got his ass beat just he wasn't using his full capacity , just most of it. At that point I don't think he even recovered enough to go all out they both passed out right after the fight if I recall correctly. Or at the very least I recall he barley had any energy or mana left to do much after the fight and I think that was right at the end of the fight , when he got stabbed in the throat.
