Not to mention that between Mc and Dante the former was the least likely to put the village at risk with a revolt.

When youre an emperor you gotta put down any potential rebellion. Plus, i'm pretty sure she didn't see Dante as important. I haven't played in a while but isn't Dante mismanaging the town? Which is probably why she targeted the MC.
