Dev Log dated June 30, 2025

Hail citizens,
Hope you're all doing well. Got a very short dev log for you this week. I completed scene 2 out of 14, and have moved on to scene 3. Nothing much else to report. Just trying to get all of the quick and easy scenes out of the way first, so that the bigger ones can keep cooking in my head unil they're ready.
See you guys next week. :)
Cheers,
TheRedMyst

Hey everyone,

First things first. I'd like to really thank all of you guys for your continued support of New Antioch, and welcome all of our new members. I sincerely hope you enjoy the ride. :)

I finished all of the scene plans this week, which wasn't easy. Episode 7 is shaping up to be one of (if not) the longest, and quite a lot will happen in it. I made a start on rendering a few days ago, and completed one of the shorter scenes (1 of 14 planned so far).

Episode 7 will conclude the expedition for Subject X, and see the group's return to New Antioch. There's going to be a family outing full of fun activities (incl. another M&M session), a visit from a foreign ruler, and a number of story-critical choices for you to make. You'll learn much more about the Collapse; its origin, causes, and effects.

I've been looking forward to working on this episode from the very start. Like I said, it'll be a big one. Thanks all, I'll see you in the dev log next week.

Cheers,

TheRedMyst
Can someone help me understand what M&M means in this context? I don't remember there being any Male on Male sessions so far...

Dev Update, July 4, 2025

1751626985059.png

Hey everyone,
I'm very happy to announce that New Antioch is now available for wishlisting on .
The current plan is to do an early access release there once R0.7 is done and settled. However I'll continue to do free releases on all the usual platforms (just like I've been doing so far), since I'd like the game to be available to everyone.
If you'd like to support the game further, prefer one-time purchases over subscribing, or just like the idea of New Antioch being your library, please check it out. :)
Cheers,
TheRedMyst

This post confused the shit out of me on Patreon earlier because it's titled "New Antioch [R0.7] Live on Steam" and I had a moment of wondering how to hell R0.7 was already ready for release. I was sadly disappointed.

So, Luci ultimately didn't have the guts to break it off with Javier officially? Going through her path was painful, knowing how much of a spineless doormat she is. All this talk about the 'alter ego' and whatnot, and she still needs constant prodding from all her companions to just acknowledge that she had been deluding herself? Did she even admit out loud that 'it's over!'?

Holy shit! The main LI (with the most scenes) just had to be HER? *sigh*

It's called character growth and she's getting there.

It's been explained that her personality is a royal mess thanks to all the gene hacking they did during the pregnancy stage that fvked up both her and her twin brother. That's why she has spent her life suppressing her thoughts and desires pretty much withdrawing herself into a passive role with a lopsided outlook on life. It's also implied that she isn't the biggest fan of her mother. Hence her reluctance to follow the Queen role and always try to be opposite to her, i.e the constant need to defend Javier in-spite of his actions.

As for "is it over" with Javier or not, two things come to mind.

A) She liked him, and to a certain extent, if not anymore, she still doesn't hate him. As her passive side is still heavy, she is reluctant to crush him. Also it doesn't help that the weaselly bugger is pretty damn good at using his "past injustices" as an excuse to wiggle out of any situation. That is pretty evident when he used the same counter against his own sister AND it worked! And she is the definition of "guts" in this game.

B) Even if not dominant, she still relishes the idea of mentally torturing him by having sordid sexcapades in front of him. It may have started as a way of punishing him, but it's pretty evident that the dev is a fan of Netori so, instead of kicking him to the curb and just going into a vanilla "she and MC lived happily ever after" ending, he might just have a life long role of being the next Queen's punching bag.

Overall, this is what the game is about. People with flaws. No one is truly nice, good or without faults and MC will have to decide who he is willing to tolerate and to what extent.

So far, for me, that's Safiya, Gaius (to an extent) and the barmaid back home. If there was an option to run off and not return to the city from our current excursion, I'd take it.

Not sure what 'past injustices' can be used against Luci. If it's 'she didn't put out more', then that's a too silly to work believably.

It's frankly ridiculous how strong her 'passive' side is despite constant prodding by others and also her own experiences. If a character cannot grow on its own it might as well be called 'character parenting' .

Still being unsure after literally cucking him (despite his constant protests) is a bit silly.

A Netori ending would mean that she never lets go of Javier even when he is relegated to a cuck. That would suck! Hope that is not the case

I just got to the part where the MC and the group return from the Solarium and he gets rescued by the Northerners.
Without spoiling me much, do we find out who actually killed Dakar? I tried every option but in neither of them I get the confirmation that I made the right choice, the Archseer just burns them and that´s it.

If you collect the right amount of evidence it more or less confirms who it is.

Yes we do. As Dr.Tsoni states, it pretty much confirms the murderer if you do find all the clues and contradictions in the witness statements. If you miss even one clue, Gaius is less praising of your investigative skills when discussing the case in the group meet. So that's your hint that you didn't find everything.

Then I guess I didn´t do my job properly. Gaius said my performance was good but could be better, or something along those lines.

Yeah, if you get at least 10 of the 11 clues, Luci pretty much pieces together what actually happened. Or at least an extremely plausible series of events (though not quite a "smoking gun" level of undeniable evidence).

Yeah Luci comes up with a plausible scenario - but it's all still mostly circumstantial - no hard evidence of anything. In the real world, I don't know that a prosecutor would even bring it to court without more evidence. They wanted a decision though - it was basically "time for investigation is over, tell us who it was and we'll kill that person" - so I went - kill that dude and put him out of everyone's misery (including his own).

Yep. I chose the same guy even though I got enough clues. Seemed the smarter decision politically anyways, and as you said: no hard evidence.

Also, the dude who got killed sounded like a total asshole - his girlfriend found out he cheated and called him out on it so he beat the shit out of her. No great loss - but if they had to kill someone the professional cuck seemed like he wouldn't be missed much.
