and you're forgetting(i'm guessing) the part where she admits that SHE needs/wants HIM and stating that MC has no leverage...i mean...shouldn't be about convincing MC to join her? and if MC didn't care about the blackmail, what would have happened? She would have actually spread the picture that shows a girl naked and MC looking? the girl is ayase's bestfriend, without context can be MC and Ayase's friend hooking up in an alley, also if police(bc rape is a serious accusation) questions how she got the picture what is she going to say? That she watched her bestfriend being raped instead of trying to save her or call the police for help? or she'll say "i saved her after taking the picture"? I can go on(and maybe i will) but between the alley scene and the blackmail there are so many things that can go wrong and actually BACKFIRE Ayase or her friend(depending on how you see it, Waka/Ayase's friend can be accused of public indecency) and if Ayase&Friend are such good people, why would they even go along with the blackmail stuff? Also does Waka know about Ayase's vigilantism? To get along with the plan of accusing MC of rape, Waka must be informed first, afterall she is the presumed victim!

That's why i said that the blackmail doesn't/shouldn't work, because too many variables to check, so not only it's a stupid scene but also it's not thought through(which is usually why a scene is called stupid)...and it's voided by the fact that Ayase NEEDS MC, meaning that if MC is in jail she can't use him/be helped by him...so MC has ALL the leverage, but he is too dumb to see it and Ayase too full of herself to really understand how stupid her plan is...and that's on the dev who wrote them like this.

In regards to the blackmailing stuff, I came across a similar situation in a different game called Twinewood (Good game despite the scene in question btw, check it out.) about a week ago.

I guess I'll say the same thing here: I understand the story needs to move forward, but just pushing past something like that feels like shit. I don't expect the MC to open up a can of Whoop Ass™, but I'd like to be able to express some level of resentment.

That said I'm sticking with this game despite all that because the rest of it seems pretty good. (Not that I'm a paying customer or anything.)

Nobody ever said that people shouldn't play the game...just that some scenes are done poorly, without considering lots of situational-factors, like the dev didn't even consider "what if Ayase's plan of blackmailing MC would fail?", because he is the writer and decided that the plan will work regardless, no matter what, without thinking about the several things that may go wrong, like MC not caring about his reputation, or Ayase's friend involvement, afterall if Ayase spreads that picture, she'll be showing also her friend(aka Waka)'s naked body...which can't be good for her

That's the neat thing: We're not hating, we're criticizing, we're harsh but fair, we don't shit on the game just because, we call out some of the things that we believe are a problematic issue

Doesn't matter Rape is a traumatizing events especially for a virgin and developers playing it of like it another day in life is pretty shitty thing to do. So, at the end of the day it doesn't matter if they got raped or not. I simply don't enjoy watching thugs sexually assaulting possible li and then it being treated as norm. It not like that the only issues with the game. There is vast amounts of characters with no background information and unrealistic robotics dialogues/response.

I agree, I personally stopped two rapes, beating the crap out of them, it almost came back to haunt me as they were gang bangers, but everything worked out I went in the Navy... Got out of town when I heard through the grape vine... they said they had killed me in a contract.... Liars and weak preying on victims. So, yeah, if you're looking for a game where you're not a hero, this won't be it. Nor will most harem games.

That's a shame, the game has potential, but I'd like the option to avoid her path as much as possible, if that's not going to be an option then all I can do is wish the dev luck and move on to pastures new.

I have played other harem games where certain LI were able to be avoided to some degree so thought I'd put the question out there.
