We will have fun with the game as it is, you will have not fun with the game as it is. Sounds like a good deal to me. I prefer if the dev is developing the game they like and not the one you like. Surprise!

You must be one of those folks that just plays for free. I am part of a large group that evaluates each creator and financially supports those that make content that we like. We use this forum to communicate with them and determine if their art is something that we want to support. This involves actual communication. We discovered a long time ago that some creators are just making what they like, while others want to make money off it and oftentimes haven't done the market research or have not narrowed down their target audience so that their content can be appropriate for them.
Once we figure out where they stand, we then communicate our finding to our other members.
I always give feedback when the creators intentions are unclear.
Once we know what the creators intentions are then we can decide where to go from there. It could be anywhere from putting them on ignore, to watching them to see where they are going, to deciding that they need to be supported and encouraged.
I have absolutely no problem with a creator making something I don't like as there is a huge competitive market out there and someone else will happily fill the niche.
