I'm having an issue where I had a level up chance but wanted to wait a turn to make my decision (new opportunities). The next turn a mission completed and I have enough xp to level up again. I used a level up...but a second didn't appear. I figured they didnt stack like that, but no biggie I used it so the next one will work. When the time came for me to level up again though...the option didn't appear. Same thing when I closed out and reloaded.
Is this a bug or do I need to upgrade something else first?

Iirc, your main slaver doesn't level up and get new traits/aspects for every assignment lvl up. More like a 2 for 1 ratio.
So if you skipped a lvl up it should let you lvl up on the next completet assignment lvl up(marauding, slaving, etc.) But from then on you probably need 2 or 3 assignment lvl ups again to get a lvl up for your leader.
Have you tried to get more than one additional assignment lvl up to check? Also if you have a max capacity your leader can lvl up, maybe you reached that maximum already.

Level ups are definitely wonky and you can "lose" them if you allow several to pile up. Always level up (both yourself and your slavers) ASAP.
This is partly true, for your slavers you WILL waste level ups, so you should always immediately level them up.
For you personally you can level up infinitely so long as you dont have 5 or 6(Forget which) unique aspects chosen, and you should save your last aspect level up so you can get an extra aspect from corruption and then use the level up.
Like Alpha4 said, it takes multiple assignment levels to hit your leaders level up, the easiest being scavenging as you can just send 3 or 4 slavers to scavenge around camp every day for 300 Scav XP every day on crits, which on hardcore you proc like 40-80% of the time, even better if you can send 4 different groups of 3 for 1200 scav xp per day, especially since it also power levels your slavers.
You will know when your main slaver hits cap because you'll have max aspects and it will say you dont meet the pre-requisites to level up on this level every time you should get a level afterwards just above the assignment reward choices.
As for traits you can find out your Max Cap under general stats in the dropdown, though it will bombard your reading log with a ton of info to scroll through, i believe nethemir get the most and you can increase your total at character creation by choosing "Jack of All Trades", also any traits which dont cost anything to pick dont count against this total, and you can pick one races options and then use outcast to do it again for maximum traits
The best start to power game is by using quick start, selecting bonus food, gold, a bonus unique slaver, going to day one and immediately quick restart, then pick hardcore because it's easier to get crit success and better assignments on. Pick your actual MC slaver(notable excellent choices include Draki, Ooze, Black orc, The Elven Dominatrix that can only crit succ/fail when slaving, Lago Male, and the new fairy who can hoe herself.
always customize, select any free traits since they dont count against your maximum allowed traits, maybe select outcast so you can get a new array of free traits as well to double up. The best gender is female for the bonus to assignments if you have a lesbian desire hypnotized slave (Easiest to get if you have hypnosis), The best race to reroll into with biomancy is Neko since they ignore a negative trait on assignments.
Ideally you want to pick Johan Jansen as well at character creation as an additional slaver since he is by far the best slaver from his special trait.
In character creation i advise taking educated, creative, cunning, and leader in general and then building around the assignments you want to be good at, if you have the TF game edition you can take the super negative Incredibly Beautiful(Or w/e) multiple times to farm points, it doesn't count against trait max.
You can get a bunch of of traits from biomancy and corruption so i would advice against taking perceptive, dancing, singing, agile, strong, or resillient, there are multiple more you can get but they seem harder to proc, also you lose all physical traits including beauty when changing race through biomancy, so you can drop inc beauty there if you like.
You should also export your character when done as it lets you quick restart with all your choices pre-selected to reroll the random extra slaver you selected in the beginning in case it gives you a bad one, ideal is johan and the keldan biomancer
You now have your real start, time to spam the camp assignment forage until your slavers are competent, unless you got some good assignments that you have a good shot on, in which case save scum to success, ideally by having 5 games loaded and spamming through for a good result if you have like a 30% or lower chance.
First slaves should be lesbian hypnotized maids on camp bitch duty.
Chill in the great plains where you're safest, then branch out to the ever forest and dreadsea coast, throw any slavers you dont want into the dread mountain scouting job so you can get rid of them or get a meeting with the lord
Aversol is expensive and mostly for infiltration and slaving jobs so dont bother unless you're skilled there
The Ever forest has the quest Barberous Bargains, which lets you hoe a slave/slaver/yourself for their 2-4x sell value in gold or supplies, if you make yourself an ideal courtesan you can easily hit 3-7k gold payoffs per mission.
Try and get a smith and/or seamstress and power level them for the best gear you can get, ideally with Craft:Enchantment too but i have yet to find an easy way to get both sadly.
Later on:
Save your last aspect level(Either 5 or 6 i dont remember) and then use corruption to get one, then immediately level up, you now have more aspects than you should be able to.
Do rare missions for rarer slavers
Aversol has imperial courtesan for more powerful random traits, and share the wealth for extra free aspects
Investigate the swamp on your character for potions, piercings, and extra traits for your slavers
Go into debt at the rose for free biomancy, just dont increase your own skins sensitivity through biomancy first or your games screwed.
Try not to be overthrown, i suggest enslaving all your slavers and making them obedient dolls to your will through johan, if they arent already female use biomancy to change that, Probably on Johann first though since even shot he'll try to usurp you himself otherwise.
Bonus: bugs/glitches/exploits i've found as of 0.971
-If you use Quickstart-Extra Options you can retain the extra gold/supplies/rarer assignment starts/rng unique slavers selected there by using the quick restart option in the "Glossary, Help and Options", and then fully customize your character from there. If you export this character it wont save any of this on import, but it will save your choices and allow you to quick restart again and again to reroll your unique slavers while saving all your customized choices, except for your name/title.
-Cancel almost never works, to escape choices just hit "Slaves" or "Slavers"
-You can save a level up and then acquire an aspect after reaching the maximum number
-The unique slaver Camaara Nighttouched's slave value increases every time you examine her value, which allows you to money glitch Barbarous bargains to obscene degrees.
-Whenever your slavers are enslaved/unenslaved/sissified/gender swapped(while enslaved, haven't tested outside) they lose all piercings from the marsh hut and slave collars.
-if your character isn't in camp when you "win" you wont be able to change nightly activity or open the clothes menu after continuing.
-You can reselect exceptionally beautiful/feminine in the opening customization to farm customization points
-The assignment with the illusionist in aversol never despawns, it just waits to be started forever after its expiration date.
-if you have used biomancy to increase your skins sensitivity to max and then go through the Ensnared Rose scene that increases sensitivity, your game will crash, locking out this content.
-sometimes with the random unique slavers, you are able to train them as slavers, none of it advances, but you can give them beginner training, and they do keep the new traits. In addition the trainee will remain free to put on assignment, and after their training ends it will dupe the character, allowing you to have several unique slaver clones on assignments, so long as they don't come back to camp at the same time, as it will delete the dupe. it also seems to multiply their experience gain, and follow over if they're wounded/lost in any of the assignments ongoing.
-you are able to increase your head slavers skills(slaving/marauding/etc) while they are on a task, if they complete the training 2 or 3(sometimes 1 as well) before the assignment is over it will dupe your character, as in the above bug/glitch
-You can use hypnosis to give slaves the denial mantra, and then get the bimbo mantra from bimbo training with a hypnotist, thus allowing you to get both.
-The submissive varient of slave driver doesn't seem to give the slavers trait bonuses to most assignments, making it worse at the same tasks, but it's likely just not fleshed out as much yet.

Yes, do both basic and advanced domination training and then you will have the option to put the slave on a mission to prove himself worth of being a slaver.
i think that was the method back when i played, but someone may have a better answer.

when can we add the abandoned tag to the thread? Bedlam cant even be bothered to post on his patreon. If any of yall are still paying him id strongly recommend stopping. I thought cancelling a patreon subscription was a lot of work but its actually very simple.

Bruh, Bedlam released an update recently, why would we change it to abandoned, they're clearly working on it, hell, they do progress updates on their patreon every like 2-3 weeks, what do you want from them???
Though it is fair to say things have slowed down, from my understanding its generally due to working on converting to Twine since RAGs is ass and everyone agrees, which takes up a substantial amount of time.
Also apparently they're sick with a bad cough or something? Straight from their progress update on the 6th:
"So that cough I mentioned last time. Got worse. A lot worse. Properly incapacitated a family member as well, and yet that's no excuse for the current state of things."
The current state of things being that they dropped a few streams after going on vacation, then coming back sick. Then due to not working on it during their vacation and being less capable while sick, they got behind, and people started to put the screws on them, because stress and anxiety SURELY will make them work more consistently and definitely not just burn out?
People are of course livid that they are a human being with human weaknesses, especially after they paid for progress to happen consistently, how dare a creator need to take time for their health and well being XD.
You are of course entitled to your opinion and can do as you like, but this isn't surprising or even unreasonable imho, just take a chill pill, the progress is coming along, slow though it may be.
TL; DR Bedlams sick, stressed, and doing their best developing and converting their game, but they did drop a few streams recently, and some patreons are upset, the rest of us understand shit happens.
one update in over half a year tho and ive seen the "omfg im sick" once per month instead of updating the game too many times to even bother with his explanations. I couldnt give any less of a fuck about stress and anxiety tbh, that comes with working under deadlines especially in game dev business and if he cant make said deadlines its not a great situation is it? Ive got sympathy but at the same time im not going to pay for something im not getting. Ive read his patreon updates but that cough hes been having seems like a chonic issue at this point because we are 3 months into it lol. You do you if you want to support this kind of business, but as ive said its the same old story, excuses instead of work being done. And i disagree about him doing his best developing and converting the game since, well, its not being developed at all.

yeah the abandoned tag thing was more of a joke than not a joke. Still not as big of a joke as whats happening with this game
One of my favorite games. What would make it solid is more interactions with your slavers. The rng isn't severely punishing, but rewarding enough for you to remember your A team by name. The writing is enjoyable. The world building does lean in a bit too hard too obvious inspirations, enough that it takes you out of this world to remind you of their actual counter part. But yea, cant wait for consensual sex (that does not require being an absolute beauty) between members of my team in 5 years.

I have some unfortunate news, my Motherboard exploded after a city-wide power outage the other day, and the warranty had just expired, meaning I had to purchase a brand-new one, as such, I can't currently afford any of my usual monthly subscriptions.
Hopefully someone else will step forward and keep you all supplied with the newest game links while I'm unable to.
