Ekhmmm and how do they get money? making good game take lot of time and if you want to create not just 5pic clicker you have to put a lot of effort in it. so who will do it for free? (ok there are som of such a people but most such project are abbandoned in no time).

I don't really know, like probably most people hitting this thread in the last few weeks, I hadn't really paid much attention to this before the thing with Steam and Itch.io recently. I'll tell you this though, going through it, the quality of the work improves markedly. There are some the animations that genuinely impress me, and still others that display real artistic creativity. This is a very good VN.
