I would not say aunt's storyline is generic. I think if Zerat had more time, the storyline with the aunt (and also the one with Tommy's mom) would be more fleshed out.

I'll tell you this though, going through it, the quality of the work improves markedly. There are some the animations that genuinely impress me, and still others that display real artistic creativity. This is a very good VN.
