If i asked you "what do you think about the update?" and you said "it's short and boring" would that be considered rude and inappropriate just because it was free? Or was it inappropriate because the guy spoke without being asked?
Is the update actually good and the guy is wrong or was he on point but he shouldn't have said a bad word since he didn't pay for it?

If he said "it's shit" then i wouldn't know what to make out of it, pretty useless.
But all he said is that it's short and boring which for me, is enough to not bother with it and save some time.
If you played the update and then you saw his post which you didn't agree with, it might come off as complaining, but for someone who hasn't played it yet and who's on the fence with whether they want to play it or not it's just feedback.

But you see here is also the problem. For some people "short and boring" means they were in for a quick rub, so they hit the "skip unseen text" on and just ran through it with skipping everything, thus way it being "short". And then when they don't see the sex scenes they would've liked to see, they say it's "boring".
I played through it. Was it boring? No, at least not to me it wasn't. We made progress in the story and started to understand where we are heading here. Could it have been longer one? Sure, but taking in consideration that royalcandy is pushing these updates out monthly even when he is not working on this game as a "full time" dev, I'd say it's understanding. But that being said, when you know that's the deal, maybe it is better to wait month or two longer and let two or three updates stack up before touching it, if you would like the "updates" feel "longer and more exciting".
