after reading all this crazy things, this dude should do a episode that shows the MC isn't related and continue with the story with this new plot twist. this should minimize his "trauma"
100% agree. Sounds like he was struggling with the incest aspect of NMM for a while now and it's gotten to a point where he doesn't enjoy working on it anymore. I'm happy he's coming back to NMM to conclude things but he should absolutely make the games he wants to make.i'll speak for myself, but in my mind, if you don't like what your doing anymore. You have to change. I can understand what you're feeling right now. Do what you really want, and start new projects. And some will follow you and you made some new followers. I'll be there...
I've played indie games on steam for a long time... long before I started following AVNs. Trust me when I say this is not a precedent. Sometimes projects get dropped for all sorts of reasons including personal reasons. So it's just the way it is. That's why there's a very lengthy disclaimer about it on Steam for early access games as well as similar documentation on Patreon. We all know what we're getting into and there is never a guarantee that the game will be finished. If we like the game, we want to support the development of it.This is a bad precedent to set though. Should every developer who's life may have changed since THEY started a project years before all of a sudden abandon it and move on to something else?
He should have the decency to at least finish the project that HE started and I'm glad he seems to have decided to do that, even if it's just a few updates to wrap it up.
And people absolutely have the right to never support a dev who has ever abandoned a game. And the attitude they can just stop for whatever reason is a good reason why some people never support period...People can get mad and throw fits, but at the end of the day the dev does have the right to step away for personal reasons.
He does, and it's insane to say otherwise, but people can still voice their frustrations (especially if they gave the dev money).at the end of the day the dev does have the right to step away for personal reasons.
Just because something happens doesn't mean that people have to blindly tolerate it without complaint.I've played indie games on steam for a long time... long before I started following AVNs. Oh there's been plenty of complaint already. More than enough of it. You guys have that part down. There really isn't anything left that hasn't already been said ad nauseum though. On the subject, how much longer until ya'll get it all out of your system? Just wondering when we'll get back to talking about the game again instead of all the angry, entitled complaints we've seen over the last several days. Thread is usually cooler when we're talking about tiddies.Just because something happens doesn't mean that people have to blindly tolerate it without complaint.
Yeah it seems to specifically the incest that was bothering him, for much longer than any of us knew apparently. In the first announcement, he did briefly mention considering going SFW entirely, but it seems he's made a decision on that as of this last announcement after he calmed down. Seems he wants to keep doing porn games but it will be sans-incest. Which is fine by me. I'd totally support it.Just to be clear, Royal candy's issue is with the incest, and not just making porn games in general right? I have seen devs abandon projects because they wanted to stop making porn all together
I don't know for sure, But I bet if the Dev went on to make a non incest lewd game with the quality of this one, He would have as much, if not more support.
Just needs lots of milfs, can't forget the milfs![]()
This is most likely what drove him to continue this VN even if he now dislikes taboo content, he will still have a lot of support going forward but imo people are wary of supporting a dev that gives up (no matter how legit a reason it is), especially on a project that is universally liked.Just to be clear, Royal candy's issue is with the incest, and not just making porn games in general right? I don't mind him making someone else, but if he really should finish his work on this one before starting something new or at least add an ending.Just to be clear, Royal candy's issue is with the incest, and not just making porn games in general right? He wants to continue making AVNs so either he bit the bullet and let everyone know what was up, or he'd have to start again from nothing under a new name.Drama queen. I was already good with the fact the game was just dropped. I still am. Nothing more needed to be said. It's just my opinion, and to be clear I'd like to feel for the guy, but honestly he just openly and intentionally shot himself in the foot by even freaking saying anything. Seems to me that if he is genuinely as conflicted as he says he is he should have just left it alone and kept his mouth shut. What does he want the community to talk him out of it? WTF?
You're right, and I understand that. But correct me if I'm wrong here. We all got that message loud and clear when he announced the first time that he wasn't going to continue with the game, didn't we? I know that I did, it was very clear to me. And again, correct me if I'm wrong. He got full acceptance from nearly everybody, even though so many liked the game. Even accolades for manning up and announcing it and not leaving everyone hanging. At that moment I thought that was borderline 'admirable'. That should have been the end of it. But now there's first a comeback with well I guess I'll abandon my new moral compass orientation and finish it, only to be...almost immediately...followed up with no I won't I just can't do it. What? It just seems like he's trying to either get 'validation from the masses' or see how much resistance he gets, or IDKWTF. Or maybe just keep the conversation on him. IDK, I just think it was a dumb thing to do. If he genuinely wants to, as you say, keep his reputation and continue, he needs to think these posts through before he publishes them.He wants to continue making AVNs so either he bit the bullet and let everyone know what was up, or he'd have to start again from nothing under a new name.
He had a meltdown and made some rash decisions while in a fit of panic including wiping his entire disk. I don't think that's all too difficult to relate to for a lot of us. I think we've all been there in one way or another. I know I have. I've gotten mad and shitfaced and deleted a bunch of shit I've worked on for years only to regret it the next day. I know exactly what that morning after feels like. You're right, and I understand that. But correct me if I'm wrong here.
