You are right, left carpal 4, I wrote that message from memory, and obviously I forgot.

Yeah about adding the G8 then applying the pose then dumping the character, I figured that out right away, just looking for something more permanent.
You still might want to parent to the hand vs.the carpal.

Doesn't matter, still not in the correct place after conversion. The left carpal 4 is where the G8 is parented.

Actually G8 is parented to 'left hand'. It only "looks" like it is parented to carpal 4 because it is directly under that digit, but it is not indented. If you load it up on G8 and click on the change parent button you can see that it lists left hand as the current parent.

I realize this doesn't help your current problem as you say you've tried it and other options trying to find a working solution. Just an FYI.

As for a more permanent solution than loading G8 every time to load the object in the proper place, that is why I suggested doing it once, unparenting the guitar, and saving the guitar's pose separately. Ideally you could find a script to do it for you, or write the script yourself, but manually doing it is reasonable so long as the pose count is limited. An isolated guitar pose would work with any character, rather than be specifically tied to a single G8 or G3.

With the popularity of DAZ Studio their documentation is severely lacking. I am no expert, not even a beginner, I only installed and started using Daz Studio at the start of September. I am finding that a lot of things are simply not intuitive. DS seems overly bloated, as if there has never been a rebase of the code, just keep adding more and more. It is also one of the slowest applications I have ever used.

I am learning parts as I find a need for them, right now I am trying to get a handle on lighting, or more precisely how to use an existing prop, that isn't a light, as a light source.

I got two months on you. Trial and error are the best way, unfortunately. I wasn’t anywhere close to wha you are doing one month in :D

Coriolan have you asked the dev what assets were used for Beatrice? Some are very accomodating, like royalcandy is. He had no idea who I was and I only had one single picture posted in the Foot of the Mountains thread but he was willing to give me his list of Character / Textures. I see you have some history here on F95 so I would suspect a request from you would not be simply ignored.

No, I didn't ask for anything.

Thanks for your advice, but I don't like to ask the devs for their little secrets, etc., so I do some research, and I try to get as close as possible to the original model, it doesn't work all the time, but when I get there, I'm pretty happy. ;)
