Patch folder should be in the game one. It should look like "...\NoMoreSecrets-0.7.1-pc\game\patch".

No, it changes some dialogs but the story is basically unchanged.

Might want to take a look at get_the_booze_quest.subquests, most numbers are used wrongly.
7: Description is for accepting Rene's path, nothing ever sets it to active, and it's used in a check(==active) for ending Stephania's route at Potter's house.
8: Description is for having accepted Stephania's route, nothing ever sets it to active, and it's used in a check(==active) for ending the cash route at Potter's house.

Subquest 7 and 8 don't seem to be the only ones, the same goes for several other subquests, as it seems:

Just try another save file. This trace log doesn't seem to say much about the cause of the error.
