Mixxed feelings, on one hand you already had easily one of the best looking VaM games on this site. On the other hand boy do those renders look good. I'm not sure what you're doing but you're pushing that engine about as hard as anyone probably can in those pictures. Normally I'd suggest to save the rework chapters for when the rest of the game is done but boy does that look good, like even the hair looks good, VaM hair is usually pretty nightmare inducing.Update time!

It's worth noting those samples are 4k quality and will be compressed to 1080p before being added to the game, so there will be a slight degradation to the quality but all of the original art was done in 1080 natively, so it'll still be visually a bit more crisp with the new art. And thank you, I really appreciate the kind wordsMixxed feelings, on one hand you already had easily one of the best looking VaM games on this site. On the other hand boy do those renders look good. BOOOOOOOOONot to finish NAGN
YAYbut I feel it's best to start from the beginning again
I understand and respect your opinion, and I appreciate you for voicing it in an honest way. This decision really is for me, not so much players, but I really think the new version will resonate with more potential players when I'm to the point of releasing it, as well as something I can be more proud of.Bit disappointed to hear about the rework - I feel like the game was fine as is and you can always apply learnings to new chapters or to your next game. I made the mistake of supporting games like Sylphine in the past and I have a fairly negative opinion about reworks - it adds absolutely nothing for existing players (at least I know that I will not be replaying the game from scratch) and I think it is only worth doing if you think it will attract new players who have never played the game before (such as doing a steam launch or something).
But my opinion does not matter - its your game and you should do what you think is best. Good luck.
Fair enough. That is as good a reason as any to do a remaster. Good luck.I understand and respect your opinion, and I appreciate you for voicing it in an honest way. I'll tell you what you could do that would be totally awesome....I understand and respect your opinion, and I appreciate you for voicing it in an honest way. Keep using the same thread, just rename it. Good luckQuick question for you guys: when I do release chapter one, should I continue using this thread and just update the first post with all new everything, or would it be better to start a completely new thread and leave this thread as is?
WOOHOO
- New individually looped sex scene animations (not stitched together as previously done)
To Be Frank, that's a lot easier than saying Not a Girl's Name.Progress update!
We've been steadily making progress on the remake. I'm hopeful to have the first chapter completed and released within the next two weeks or so. For those who have played the previous iteration of the game, the first chapter will end roughly at the same point. (Future chapters will deviate a bit more from the legacy version)
The first chapter will be available to everyone at initial release, but all future updates will be early access to fanbox/subscribestar supporters before becoming public.
Here are a few notable changes that will be implemented in the first release
- Added a small initial scene featuring Frank and Izzy
- Izzy's character model has been completely redesigned
- Minor dialogue changes
- Self-produced musical soundtrack with some sprinkled SFX
- New individually looped sex scene animations (not stitched together as previously done)
- All artwork and animations completely redone
- New name for the game. From 'Not a Girl's Name' to 'To Be Frank'

Changes NOT in the initial release, but planned for future updates:
- Complete redesign of Tricia's model (necessary for congruency)
- Updated UI (specifically for choices, but other minor changes too)
- Character gallery/scene player
- More scenes each chapter featuring supporting characters for better exposition (and more lewd scenes as a result)
- Chapter select screen
That's all I have for now. Quick question for you guys: when I do release chapter one, should I continue using this thread and just update the first post with all new everything, or would it be better to start a completely new thread and leave this thread as is?
So is the game alive, dead,in between?Frank is excited to see all of you again!

It's still alive, I've just been swamped with IRL work and haven't had hardly any free time the past few weeks. My SO has been kinda doing her own thing on the Pestus Games Fanbox/Subscribestar front with her own little projects but she doesn't want to help me with this game because I won't let her change a lot of stuff that she doesn't like.So is the game alive, dead,in between?

Anywho, I'm close to finishing the first chapter of the remake, just need to finish sound/music work and get the last scene coded in. Unfortunately my work doesn't show any signs of slowing down until closer to the holidays so I'm reluctant to give any more deadlines that I apparently can't keep lol.
As soon as I finish it up I'll definitely post it here.
Here's a couple more shots from the remake.
