I totally hear you, man. Been there too. Now and Then is a masterpiece, and in my opinion it never got all the attention it deserved back in the day.
Thankfully as others have said, you have some healthy alternatives right now out there. For starters, the same developer next game, The Interim Domain, is now finished and, even if its tone is completely different than N&T, it's really enjoyable too. It will get some love by the end of this year in the form of a Director's Cut version with a revamped finale, but it's perfectly playable right now from start to end.
Also, as it has been mentioned above, the newest game by ILS, Toxicity, is much closer to N&T narrative, but unfortunately it's still mid development. It has a pretty quick and stable release cycle, so thats great, just a small warning that the plot is still developing.
Finally, you can always play some other AVNs with a tone and setting not so different to N&T. Mist is one of the first completed games that comes to my mind.
PS. And yes, Sydney best girl, hands down.

Do this work lean more towards game or kinectic novel with no branching paths? Because even tho the plot and characters look really interesting i really don't see a point in a "game" where you only make fake choices every 10 minutes just for the sake of it, when I want to play a game that is, this is probably way better than your average hentai doujinshi lol
Your choices do matter and there are some game over endings based on bad choices.
Most of the choices are about managing the relationships with the different women - but part of this is managing their fear (represented in the 'Nerve' stat).
There are also 'Love' and 'Trust' stats that will help determine who the MC will end up with at the end of the AVN.
The WT is a good guide if you are looking for help with a playthrough.

Ran across this one recently, and judging by the replay gallery, I'd guess I'm about 1/3 of the way through. Enjoying it--not the greatest modeling/animation I've seen, but it does the job, and the story's good. Met Sydney fairly recently, and I agree with Naomi--she's very pretty. It does seem that, around this time in the game, MC's hair is changing randomly in both color and style, which is a little distracting.
I see the love for Sydney in recent comments, and I get it, but it's Carol for me, at least so far--she's obviously MC's #1 (and I expect always will be), cares the most for him at this point, and has both the care and the strength to tell him when he's being a dumbass. Naomi's right here, and I'm with MC:
Even if I tend to prefer a slimmer build, Sydney's easily the hottest of the three LIs (at the moment, late in Ep 15). But it seems they're playing up the "older woman" a bit. She's pre-med, so an undergrad college student (and a bit ambitious, given her tramp stamp, but two out of three ain't bad). Granting five years for the BS (which is becoming increasingly common), that puts her at 23, max. I guess for an 18-year-old like Carol or Naomi, that counts as an "older woman," but MC has to be at least pushing 40--I'm not sure a few years counts for that much. Sydney does seem more grown-up than Naomi in many ways, but I'm not sure about whether that's true vs. Carol.
Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

So I just finished the game and in my playthrough, Sydney decided to stay in the camp. But after unlocking the gallery I realised that she can accompany the party to Marshland. How to make sure of that?

You need 10 Sydney points for her to eventually join you (she will not do so at first). This game has so many different paths and options that I can't tell you everything, but having sex with her at every opportunity definitely helps. You really need to look at the walkthough for all the variables.

I'm still just 6 chapters in, but I'm enjoying it so far. The atmosphere is great, and the writing is really polished. But I have two little things that are bothering me a bit.
The “then” parts at the beginning of the story were great and served as an introduction to both the world as it was and to the characters. But as the story keeps moving forward, they start to just be there to break the pace. I understand if you need a flashback to show something important, but when I’m really focused on the present and, out of nowhere, I get a random “then” part of Naomi flirting or the girls just chatting with the MC’s commentary, I just sigh. It really breaks the immersion.
What I’m gonna say next is just the dipshit in me talking, but having the MC be 40 (or nearly there) and hooking up with teenagers—and from the tags, he’s gonna be getting a harem—just feels a little weird to me. Like, how much time does bro still have in his prime? 10, maybe 15 years? And it’s a zombie world, so in 10 years he’s still gonna have to deal with zombies and a harem of vigorous women. Pray for bro lol.
But again, I’m just ranting. Maybe by the end, the zombies won’t even be a problem anymore. And hey, Tom Cruise is 63 and planning to marry in space, so age doesn’t mean much in our world anymore, much less in a fictional one. So yeah, I’m just yapping.

The "infected" don't seem to bother much with things like eating, so as long as they can be prevented from infecting more people, it seems likely they'll die out before too very long.
Note also that MC isn't Carol's biological father; it's therefore entirely possible that he's on the younger side. I wouldn't put him below 30, but he could yet be well under 40. But as to his getting with her, well, the Electra complex is a thing. And when it comes to Naomi, in addition to however attractive she may have found him (which apparently was "very"), there's the whole "he saved my life" thing. All in all, the motivation for all the LIs to want to be with MC struck me as much more realistic in N&T than in many (probably "most") other AVNs. And not all the LIs are teenagers--most aren't, in fact.
But in 10 years, we're not in this crisis any more. Either the infected have won and humanity's died out, or they're gone (perhaps with the occasional straggler) and some kind of order has been restored. And unless the bandits rise to power, that order will probably look a lot like things were before the pandemic, though there will surely be some differences. So in 10 years, MC's maybe 40-50 years old. He has a stable life in a stable society and has his harem of six--four of them aged 28-33 (or so, guessing on one of those), the other two around 50 (unless we meet more late in the game, but I think it's late enough that won't happen). And probably lots of kids.

Nah, I'd have to go through and take notes and do some math but he has way too many metal bands (that I know) shirts to be "well under 40". A BIT under 40 I might buy.
Fair point--people's musical tastes don't always track with their ages, but often do. I didn't pay a great deal of attention to those because I never paid a lot of attention to the metal bands when I was younger.
We also don't see any mention of MC's being markedly younger than Ted & Alice, and it probably would have come up if he were. So while I maintain he could be mid-30s or even younger, he's probably closer to 40.
