Holy shit just how long is this VN? This is great, writing's rather consistent (although there was one occasion where dev's own writing style bled over across characters. As in, character X using some really niche saying that character Y used in a earlier chapter.)

Yeah, haha, I've noticed that a few times too. I think in a general sense there's all the aspect where you can tell the Dev had to try and make most of the dialogue fit most of the paths with only minimal changes. So that's definitely a factor to this too. Still a great game though with consistent writing and development.

It's nice to see the thread lively again. It makes me dream about the sequel: Then & Now: A Tale of the Beginning. In this second part, we'll see Jack's adventures as he makes trips around the cities to get diapers for his newborn children. :KEK:
You don't think Carol and Naomi will insist on re-purposing his ratty old shirts? :sneaky:

If I were in the shoes of the MC in N&T story? Honestly, why choose?. I'd pick both...
Ah, but there's only one "main" LI, right? That's really what I'm talking about. Sure, play Pokemon with the LIs. But if one's going to be on top, who's it going to be (yeah, I'm ignoring that you can play through multiple endings)?

If you're going to pick one of the girls (i.e., < 25 years old), Carol's the only one that makes sense for the story--as you said upthread, this is the story of MC and Carol. For MC to pick (e.g.) Naomi or Sydney over Carol, much as you might like either of them, just doesn't fit.

But MC deciding that, after all this time without Lori, he really does need a partner who's his equal, IMO does fit the story. Yes, he'd be reversing course on that issue; he's been pretty set on not getting with anyone else since before he even met Carol. But he's had some time to see how that's gone, and maybe he agrees that "it is not good for the man to be alone." And he has women his age who are single, whom he really likes, and who are really into him. He doesn't have to get back in the dating world to meet someone. So given all that, picking one of the adults, even over Carol, could make sense. Carol knows and loves them both, and she'd even considered trying to set MC up with each of them.

And considering all that, as MC who's picking one "main" LI, Julie or Alice? I think I favor Julie, but I don't think he'd go wrong either way.

Honestly, if this is about picking the main LI that stands out over the rest of the harem, I'd never pick any of the two tbh (except for the sake of completness, ofc :p).

Guided by the head, I'd take Carol. Guided by the heart, id go Sydney. Not sure I completely understand that "need for an equal age partner so she can be considered his equal" thing.
