I think switching from the lover route to NTS is completely realistic, after all, Liz also mentioned in the game that she needs a lot of money. Look at how many people in the real world are selling themselves for money and how many are selling their lovers, so completely removing NTS from the lover route is not a good idea.
That just go against the background of Liz and MC. Prostitution would never come into the mind of thoses two characters.
The purpose of the Lovers path is to keep Liz as pure as possible despite the attempts of the bastard (and his bitchy evil manipulator). So for me it is perfectly normal to remove the NTS choices and with that all the coherences problems that bring thoses choices.
