with a branching system that gets more complicated as the updates add up, things will become more difficult to troubleshoot at this point, especially if the dev team is really just one guy.

as for cancelling subs, many other patrons of other devs usually just sub on the month when the update drops and unsub soon after. iirc, patreon's model is really akin to those Renaissance patrons who can afford to pay monthly the artists in their employ. the patreon model of ordinary guys pitching in monthly for another ordinary guy's dream project is really only something that is very post-2010-ish.

as for the radio silence, while it might suck for customers, it's usually the better way for games development to happen, rather than communicate too much to the audience. the "we hear you" mentality if many indie and AAA development teams usually are their own can of worms.
I think the problem is that the dev will promise the update at a certain time, and then miss the deadline and struggle to communicate after that.

The better option would be to just not communicate the specific time of the update, instead maybe giving an estimate at most with some leeway time. Like in the next month or so sort of thing.

They're causing problems because they're promising specific times and never meeting them. And then the excuses given are always just..

Maybe the hope is that it inspires people to resubscribe before the update in preparation, but when you're constantly missing the update time, it puts more people off.

But I agree, patreon's monthly subscription is obviously not good for game developments like this. It would be better if they introduced a new style of membership for games in particular. You could still keep a monthly subscription, but instead, prompt developers to do lower monthly subscriptions to then give discounts to unlock updates, but leave it open that people could pay to access the update at a different price without subscriptions.

Where can I talk to him?
You can try to DM him here but he don't come very often... Your best bet should be on discord but if you ask this it means you don't have access.

Just to mention right now he is quite occupied... His real life work, beta testing for Nosy and the new layout for the guide...

Thank you answering my question.

The funniest part about those delays and the radio silence is that Nosy significantly reduced his working hours at his regular job to spend more time making the game. And ever since, it’s taken him longer and longer to finish each update:confused:

When i first subscribe in his patreon he was the best in this mobile phone genre and it is not even a joke.

Reason : #in just one month 1 or 2 updates

#The updates are just and good even though the updates are fast.

#He always communicate in the patreon

# he also listen to some ideas and implement it on the game.

X: Problem that I see are his members in his patreon always say that you can delay the game.

You shoud rest Nosy we can wait even for 3.months as long as you are okay.

The patreon also consist only positive comments. No one is doing some critique their it is like a cult.

So Nosy might think that I have some loyal fans that give me money even though i will not work hard and give the update 2 to 3 months they will still love me becuase they are loyal. That is what i see right now correct me if I am wrong if any of you here are X patreon like me or current patreon

Just remember he has more time now in the game than before he started the game.

Um, can he do that?
As long as he an his employers reach an agreement, there's no reason why he couldn't (basically, he asked to go from full time to part time and, as his employers wanted to keep him, they said okay).

Now, he said he did that so he could focus on NTR Mobile and, yes, the "funny" part is that it's after he said that that the time between updates increased massively. I mean, at some point, we were joking that NTR Mobile and Netorase Phone basically released their updates at the same time (all the while being the top two phone AVN's by far, both being created by French devs, etc.), and now, Le Stag has released seven updates to Nosy's one... :/

the dev could be "in the zone" developing the game, so doesn't have as much free time to update.

compare that when one's attention is divided between a job and a hobby: easy to talk to other people because of the constant shifts of attention.

still, the "radio silence" model of game and media development USED to be the standard in the industry for pros and indies, before patreon gave indies the idea that they should update every month and before social media pressured pros to give updates on new and upcoming games/shows and their development and behind-the-scenes stuff.

plus, as time goes on, a branching route game becomes more complicated to write. writing chapters 1, 2, and 3 is generally easier than writing chapters 8 (route 1), 8 (route 2), ... , 9 (route 1), 9 (route 2), .... , etc. for an indie dev to do? many probably underestimate how development time really blows up.

Europe isn't a country. Each has its own laws. And I have no idea how it works in France (iirc Nosy from there). But I see no reason to doubt what Nosy said about his job
Interesting, didn't know he was French too. Do we know if he post anything about searching a betatester, or if he just contacted Cenor ?
I work in QA and could be interested to help on my free time

He is not French... And yes he only asked Cenor, he is the moderator on patreon and discord.
