he probably died in the Ukrainian war. He is Russian and warned that he would probably be called up to fight

I worried about that possibility as well, but his last F95 account login/browsing activity was on 30 December 2024 - only a couple of weeks ago. That has no real relevance on the future of Off the Record, but it, at least, indicates he is alive.

Sadly it's common, devs dump a game, vanish but still occasionally login to F95zone.

Kinda find it morbidly funny that everyone assume the worst and that the dev died in Ukraine, when in reality they're just on F95zone jackin it.

Well, to take the dev's last major status update at face value, he stated he was concerned he would get mobilised into the Russian army (mobilisations were happening at that time). That scenario was concerning because IRL there would be a high chance of death or disability following such mobilisation.

It's good he appears to be safe but that doesn't mean the project will be continued unfortunately. He may be poking his head in but he has still been silent everywhere and his patreon is under review, so who knows what is going on.

On a side note, why does his user status say "Bewbie"? Isn't it supposed to be "Newbie"?

I've seen "boobies" purposely misspelled "bewbies" before, so maybe it's related to that or something.

Perhaps, though it seems odd that it is a forum wide label for activity but so far there's is the only one I have seen as "Bewbie".
