Not a bad idea, funny how I didn't really even think about that. I usually treat visual novel background images as abstractions about the scenery and the text then fills out the rest (if the scene is crowded, empty etc.).
Thanks. I have done some animation tests, but I'm not really happy with the results yet. Plus they take a long time to set up and render compared to normal, static images. But at some point I might start to add animations if I can set up a good and fast process for it. I'll add an old test .webm animation here, it has old style shading and some janky movement, but it's a start.
That animation "test" is pretty neat ! Take all the time you need though to refine it as you see fit. People usually don't expect top notch quality from a just released game, and I think you succeded to blow people'ss mind, which is a awesome start. Too bad my pay day is just in 1 week 1/2, else i'd sign up to your Patreon in a heart beat. As I see you barely have a handfull of Patreons, i'll try spread out the word till then so some friends can go visit and decide for themseleves.

Yup this is easily in my top 5 games on the site now. The amount of effort that's gone into this for an early release is staggering. Not in a position to support financially at present, but I wish @stencilbits all the success in the world.

The art looks really well done and is it cel-shaded? The character models look, dare I say, human?

Borderlands and Borderlands 2 comes to mind. I love cell shaded games for this reason.
I agree with you it has a Borderlands flavor to it. Also seems to borrow a bit the visual style of all those "real" telltale games, like Walking Dead, Wolf among us and Batman all the while retaining it's own style.
