If you're playing part 2 you can't visit Mel at the start. where you go to Emee is going to be the area you go to visit all the girls at home base

Well, that would explain it.

There's a computer in the new room and there's a comment that I should speak to Mel about it, so I assumed that was an option.

You can go to the file gamename/Renpy/Common/00console.rpy and set config.console to True, after that just Shit+O on the game

Right, as I said. It didn't let me until a certain point within the story arc, despite having the message that Weiner mentioned. A different interaction needed to be pending, and once that was, the lab destination was unlocked.

Yep. Kept playing and it opened up.

It just seemed weird that I could visit her in chapter 1 but not in chapter 2 (up to a point) -- I thought maybe I was doing something wrong or had forgotten how to get there.
