I think it's just an easy way to make a vanilla sex game spicier... or at least it was before every AVN maker and their dog started using it. Even though most people are at least somewhat grossed out by incest in real life, it's not really considered a disgusting taboo for fantasy and doesn't usually elicit the same responses that things like rape and NTR do.
Imo some games the incest does help make the game great if the taboo stuff is written really well, but a lot of the time I'm more ambivalent about it. On your usual cookie cutter harem game it doesn't really make a big difference to me if the slightly slutty milf living on the same street as the MC is an aunt or a neighbour.

I won't lie I can be like that sometimes, but it's more when there is a misrepresentation of what the story is or when dev's make the story start without things that are controversial and then they sneak it in after I get invested in the story and characters. To me it's like reading a really good book or watching a fantastic movie and then at the end you're like wth was that? The difference is with movies unless I really like it I don't really get invested in the characters. In a vn for some reason especially with the well written ones it's easy to immerse if it's a good story and well written. Same with a good book. The difference is with a vn I get to name the MC where as a book I am not sure that would work. I guess you could change a book characters name in your head as you read but still not sure it's the same.

So realistic. I saw myself as main character even though I never been addicted. I went through a fall down the stairs where I was on Oxycontin for over a month and luckily I never craved it after. I saw this where I worked watching over addicts. Sadly I just saw in the local news a man who was in the facility I worked several times (and not cooperative) over the last 20 years and now in his 50s caught selling and distributing. I was surprised he was still alive. I saw over the years some OD. I saw others do well. A young woman eventually went on to be a welder more than a decade ago. She even mentioned her freedom was way more important than "getting high." Others fucked up and went to state prison. It sucks whenever someone fails the program. Especially when it ends their life. I remember the Clinical Director there saying about it.

Why would not liking ANY kink make ANYONE weird.

I don't know about non-incest games being outliers. I just checked the first page of the Latest Games thread and found 19 out 0f 90 games which carried the Incest tag. That doesn't count those that might have incest planned in the future, but there would have to be 27 of them to become a slim majority. As someone who checks that page on a daily basis, I can assure you that this is not going to happen.

Perhaps you are just appalled by the idiots who want to turn your game into an incest fest, or who clamor for it non-stop.

When I started playing porn games (back in the days when Goblinboy was producing AVNs), I actively looked for incest - it's MY kink. I subscribed to Patreon so I could play Big Brother. If I see a game with the Incest tag, it piques my interest. However, I now subscribe to several games (like yours) which do not have any incest at all, and I abhor attempts by script writers to shoehorn incest into them.

Like everything else, what we like in a porn game is a personal taste. There is no right or wrong, especially if you realize that there are a lot of people out there that think that every one of us on F95 is perverted... and they have their right to their opinion too.

I will say, I get annoyed if the incest is obvious but Patron forced it away so we have "roommates" who lived together since birth with their "landlord" so I don't get how that wouldn't bother people, it needs to have the incest for the actual story being told. But I do also like a story. I play a lot of VNs that have no incest but a good story. The Deluca Family comes to mind right off. WVM for another but I do not want to get out in the woods naming too many.

The one I saw that had a lot of effort for the 2 methods to each make sense was Long Live the Princess.

But I never once played this one and thought, you know I wish Audrey was MC's sister. Petitioning to have her get red hair doesn't alter or affect the story or her personality so those things I would ask for (and did ). But I don't get the idea that you want to shove some fetish in where it does not belong. Or where the dev feels strongly they do not want it. My personal experience here on F95 is I see the people who enjoy NTR say those things much more often. And if it is a "porn heavy" collection of sex scenes with close to 0 story connecting anything that might be OK but at least half the VNs/games on here try harder than that. IMO

No, I don't think so. Everyone has their kinks. I don't have to understand all kinks. As long as it doesn't harm anyone I don't care. I can't play incest games. When I'm reading/playing a VN I correlate the story with myself and my life. At least if it's a good one. The idea I have sex with my sister, my mother or my grandmother isn't exciting. But I can play games like Chasing Sunsets where MC has a relationship with his non-blood-related stepsister.

Not weird to me, and I'm into the incest kink. It's not for everybody, and I respect that. As long as you respect that people have that kink, and not massively against it (to the point of kink-shaming), you'll most likely be fine.

I'm not a fan of NTR, either, and I'll probably never understand that kink. If a story/game has NTR content, I only download and play it if NTR can be avoided by choice, or skipped altogether. Otherwise, I'll skip the download/play 99% of the time. The same goes for sharing/swinging.

Some people still enjoy it, and as mentioned, I'll never understand why, but still, to each their own preferences.

For me, both daddy-daugher and brother-sister does it heavily for me, as well as cousins and uncle-niece. The age gap part of it might have something to do with my current age (42), where the age of the "older" person might still be me.

Not just this story, but there are other stories I've encountered (such as WVM, as you mentioned), where I've never considered any of the characters (LIs, specifically) needing to be related to the MC in any way. It just doesn't fit the story.

I may have an incest fetish myself, but not everything needs to be an incest-filled story.

But, I'm afraid when people play the first few chapters they'll think I'm misrepresenting the game, even though what they're seeing is what it will look like later.

I can't add more, there are already too many to begin with, so it's either leave it as it is, or put the very best images from later in the game. What do you guys think, just looking for opinions?

Don't see how it could get much better. Lydia is the fucking hottest of all. The getting everyone into recovery is a plus. I would hate to be in that situation - either addicted or a gf so. I like beer but TBH Oxycontin did nothing for me other than reduce the excruciating pain when I was in the hospital. I felt no "high" it just reduced the pain, made me tired and helped/made me sleep. Probably a good thing. My GM got addicted to it. She forgot taking it and ended up thinking the doctors and such were aliens. Said she'd never take it again. Died in 2012 at 81. She had serious surgery. Spinal fusion and such.

Drugs affect everyone differently, there are people who are just addicted, but aren't addicts. Meaning physically addicted, but if you take it way they are fine. Then there's people like me, who simply can't take it. I mean, if I had to for pain, I would, but I'd need to be in close contact with my support people all the time, and I would want someone else giving me the pills and holding onto them.

That's on you. I look at preview images to get an impression how a VN looks but more important for me is the "Overview" part and the tags. You can have the best graphics but with a bad story it doesn't help. If I were a dev I would present maybe ten pics. Eight of them shows the characters in different locations and situations. Two pics would show some nudity. An interested player could see on them what he gets. He can see which charaters are in the game and how they looks.

But, I'm afraid when people play the first few chapters they'll think I'm misrepresenting the game, even though what they're seeing is what it will look like later.

Maybe you could label the images with a small stamp on it like "Screenshot from Chapter xyz" and present pics half/half. The first half from Chapter 1-6 and the second half from Chapter 7-13.
