I'm not even past the season 1 and i already think it's one of the top series here.
I've been around addicts and even walked the same road during my teenage years.(Most was opiate pain killers, luckily i had the worst after effects which blocked the path completely for me)

Seen some friends spiral down the rabbit hole luckily most stuck to weed and fizzled even that out when they became older some though went all in.

I will definitely buy it to support this work and i hope to see it in steam (though i doubt it, but it sure is damn good for educational purposes or healing ones).

As some reviewers said the only downside is porn and/or romance. Romance though? Depends strongly from which perspective you look, on one side you can say it's impossible and overstretching but MC can and is a positive force to the people around him so through the correct lense i kinda see it happening.

Porn/Erotic element? It's small and clunky. I appreciate this story having small porn element but due to it being clunky (the animation part and shown elements) i.e. the picture doesn't correlate with spoken words (him being sex god). Almost no foreplay and basic thrusting.
Almost feels like black screen would be better.

Kudos to developer for making something incredible AND MASSIVE. When i think i still have Season 2 ahead to play i feel overwhelmed.

Ok, not sure how far I am overall into the game.
Just rescued Mary from the drug dealer.

Some early impressions.

The characters are unlikeable but I get it - they are supposed to be unlikeable at this point.
Presumably they develop and become more likeable as the game progresses.

The constant banter and back and forth between them is driving me nuts, though.
Some of that can be entertaining, but I see this happen with some game devs.
They want to put in some light banter to show the characters comfort and relationship but they go way overboard.
Me and my friends of 45 years give each other shit and do movie quoting, but nowhere near the constant level these people do.

Looking at some of the comments I can see that ZR is tired of hearing about the references.
Fair enough, I only bring it up because I am wondering if it is toned down further into the game. Not eliminated. Pop culture references can be fun.
I know that devs doing their first game often refine their style as they go and the early part of their first game can be different to the later parts of the game.

I love ZR's mod work, and they clearly know how to code a game. But that's very different from creating an engaging story and characters.
And for me, at least so far, the game and characters have not grabbed my interest - mostly because of what I mention above.
That is obviously subjective, I'm sure there are others who love the game and characters.

I will give it more of a chance, because I do want ZR to succeed, and some of the things I am not liking may be due to this being ZR's first game and the first parts of a dev's first game will always be more rough than the later parts.

ZR - will you have this game on steam? Even if I decide it isn't for me I would buy it to support you.

If you don't like the banter this game is not for you. I'm not saying you don't get it or anything like that. But, MC and Lydia's love language is banter. It softens some, but it's always there. It's the heart and soul of One Day at at Time. There's plenty of tender moments as the game goes on and even in the beginning. And while the beginning is more edgy (because it needs to be) than the rest of it. Even in he beginning I put a ton of light in the darkness. Most people who really like that game like it because of the dynamic between the characters even in the beginning.

So yeah, if you think they're "unlikable", which I and many others in this thread would argue with you on, you'd be better served playing something else.

I will not be releasing the game on Steam, but if you want to support me you can always do a one off sub to Patreon and just cancel.

Sorry it didn't land with you, but I understand not everything is for everyone, one mans trash is another man's treasure and all that.

I had to do at least one path like that. Also you had to have someone to work for if you didn't choose Brenda. I have however heard this comment before. Just have two save, easy enough! :)
You didn't "have to" do anything like that, this was a deliberate choice you made, like I said before, there was no good reason to make them mutually exclusive, their routes aren't even similar.

I'm not going to argue with you further, other than to say their routes are ridiculously similar, sans a few scenes in S1. Because they needed to be (yes I said it again), since MC needed someone else to work for if they choose not to work for Brenda. So yes, it required separate similar paths. A conscious choice would have been what you're wanting, and that's for Molly and Brenda to co-exist. Which would have left me having to choose yet another character OTHER than Molly, for MC to work for. Since I wasn't going to get rid of the ring choice because it will directly affect Lydia's ending. Molly's model would have likely become one of the girls I added later in the game. In my mind it was a no-brainer, not a conscious choice. Having him work for both of them or change their stories to fit Molly into the game the way you're suggesting, would have been convoluted and not helpful to the overall narrative.

I'm sorry you don't like it, but I can't be more clear than that. Cheers!

I have a question: are lesbian and voyeurism tags avoidable, and are all li's forced, or is it a KN? (translated with Google)

It is absolutely not a KN. I hate KNs and wouldn't have played one for long, let alone became a supporter.

Still waiting for an ipatch that turns Lydia into his sister.
Given that the story was never written that way, an ipatch would require a major rewrite by the modder for the story to make sense. It's not just a case of adding a few words here and there.

At the start of the story (without too much spoilers), the couple lives in Lydia's father's apartment building (as in, he's the janitor/admin), Lydia's mother has passed away (some years ago), MC's father is in prison, and MC is estranged from MC's mother (although they do reconnect over the course of the story so far).

Like the OP says: "Lydia will never be your sister!"

Although I like i-stories myself, the story also has to make sense with an i-patch. This story doesn't fit something like that.

eh as long as the renders still fit the hijacked dialogue, but yeah I figured it's not just a simple landlady>mom replacement but entire multiple chunks replaced. Due to the massive amount of replacement text it's not a small 30-min job, so sadly but realistically it would probably be best just to wait until it's completed to prevent surprise twists ruining the rewrite and wasting days or weeks of effort. Oh well, one can dream in the meantime and posts like "Lydia will never be your sister" is like a challenge, like telling all hackers "this new version of Denuvo will make games uncrackable".

then tweak it to where it does.
Stop trying to make every game your game. Play the games that deliver what you want. Don't play the games that don't. Or learn how to code and make them yourself.

This game is very much its' own thing, and is great at being it. There are some great i-games, and non-i-games with great patches. Not everything is about your preferences.
