I don't think you're wrong, but I'm still not quite willing to go that hard. It ties into what I said earlier, that a full rework of OnlyHer starting when this thread, not the game was a bit over 2 years old, was quite a goal to set himself.I'm sure the dev knows very well what game brings in the big bucks, but they have fallen back on the classic "burn out" excuse to justify spending time not developing OnlyHer.
For anyone who hasn't read that Patreon post and didn't read between the lines:
- The developer is tired of developing OnlyHer, and is really more into the themes of The Apex, another of their projects.
They just didn't want to outright say this to their fans, because why else would someone become burnt out by focusing on developing a single project to completion, am I right?
I can see him starting that with more honest intentions than realistic expectations, and getting burnt out.
But it's totally possible you're exactly right and I'm too forgiving. I partly defended the Star Wars prequels on a 1st date once.
