You'll find rare exceptions in the indie market anywhere. For instance Toby Fox's Undertale is carried solely on its characters and story, or Hussie's weird-ass Homestuck games. From a programming perspective visual novels are about as simple to make as they get, but the western market for them just isn't as robust in the east, or at least wasn't 20 years ago. This is especially true for eroge, which were very difficult to sell in the west with online distribution still in its infancy.

In the case of Debonosu, it's not amazing that they've made an H-game with playability, because that's what they've always done. They've made the same game, over and over and over again, all the way since they were a part of Studio e.go. They get the same couple of artists to make new CG, typically of shrine maidens and monsters, remake the levels with the same enemies, maybe add a mechanic here or there, and then pop out a nearly identical clone of the same thing about once a year. And it works, because sometimes people want to play for their porn, and they fill their niche pretty well. But I wouldn't say they're amazing for it, just professional about churning out their product.
Tsukihime is just a well known example of a typical case. What is undertale doing here?
We are talking about western +18 shit which is made to milk suckers at patreon.

There's also a stark difference in skill level. Most JP devs have better art, animation, and programming skills compared to Western Devs.
At least when talking about the programming side of things, it's really just because of the nature of the industry - big companies (FAANG) snag up almost all of the most talented developers, and making nsfw games just doesn't make financial sense when Google/Facebook are dangling 200k salaries in front of new grads. Quick napkin math will show even the best performing western titles on this site can't come anywhere close in terms of $$$.

To my knowledge tech salaries in the east aren't nearly as "top heavy", so devs who want to form teams and make these games can do so without hopping down several income brackets. That being said, much love to the talented devs who turn away big tech money so we have more porn games lol <3

Alright, so, played this. Went on normal for most of the first run, before I got bored and switched to easy. The game isn't particularly hard... it's just tedious with how you have to manage a bunch of stuff that's made more annoying by the way stupid debuffs are all over the place.

It takes several play-throughs to unlock all the scenes, because you can only unlock 1 scene per cleared combat stage. Note that this involves using the Play-Again with harder difficulty thing. Which just makes things more tedious and slow, so Easy mode is genuinely recommended.

The gangbang ending is unlocked when you do all of the last level h-scenes in a single playthrough. Yes. All four of them. You can't do that if you do individual Playthroughs from zero and just go down a column until you hit one of the four, because you won't be able to unlock all four.

The gangbang scene is designed to only be unlockable via the New Game+ mechanic.

All in all, that ending feels kind of weird. Because...

The whole build up to that mess is all about Sayaka liking sex with Haru more and more with each passing day. While she's clearly becoming a complete and total sex addict, there's no particular indication that Haru can't satisfy her... and he's the one that brings her there in the first place. There's no build up towards trying sex with more guys or anything. It's just bam, suddenly she's a super slut fucking dozens of people every day. Now... I personally like super-slut protagonists, and I don't mind the whole, sex-for-power mechanic... but in this case, it's just bizarre. It's like the game was supposed to have sex options for more power with strangers that led into that ending, but it was rushed out without them, while keeping just the ending.

So yeah. To conclude... the game is kind of eh? Not a terrible time waster, but pretty far from amazing too.

Can't even be assed to drop a review, not worth dealing with that shitty little interface for this.
Ive played their past games think their playing safe it with here in their old games where u play a a shrine maiden it was like a dungeon crawler one and losing gets ur raped by said monster and lose to much gets u a game over being addicted to sex like beat angel escalayer , i feel like this should had it because 1 if ur char lose it isnt game over a monster needs to step on her tile after she dies to get a lose therefore thats like a right spot to put in a rape scene but nothing of that sort happen

With no one else to turn to, Sayaka asks a confused Haru to be the male partner she needs for her rituals.

After looking at the 4th picture: Yeah I doubt that...

The only one of their games that they choose to translate is the one with no monster sex? Boring.

Actually it was picked up by someone else for translation.
Debonosu themselves graced us with two of their titles(Sora o agito Kumo Takaku and Kagura Douchuuki respectively)and both were delivered with MTL and euthenized for our feeble western minds(admittedly in the case of Sora because Gabe would have had a heart attack otherwise).

*sigh*

Why are all the best games always censored.
From what I am aware if they are Japanese based developers by law they have to censor them, if not then I would imagine it is for the distribution side of things, places will host and sell if censored but may not if they are not, also ratings may have to be changed as well if not censored, other than that no idea, although some sell un-censor dlc packs, or offer them for free when you buy the game.

I am aware of that.... It wasn't a question but rather a rhetorical statement. More along the lines of lamenting this sad state of affairs and the developers that choose not to offer the uncensored option to foreign markets.

Some companies have stated they will start release English versions of the games themselves on day of release same as Japan. Hopefully they will plan to make them releases uncensored but even if not to see actual translations by the company should mean no textual censoring.
