I wish that the dev team would put something official out. The dev logs being this infrequent is unfortunate. Its hard to tell what progress is being made on the twitter account linked earlier (linked here for ease of viewage: ).

Wanted to check here, finally we know if its over or we are back.

Here is the Dev log for the lazy people (Yeah, there are people that wont click any links, trust me, I have seen them)

Our 'No, it has nothing to do with Veteran's Day' Devlog!

Hey, everyone! It’s been a minute, but we're back with some exciting updates. This devlog is gonna be a bit different from our usual, so let's jump right into it.

The New Plan

After a little bit of brainstorming between Irrelevant and I, we decided that Scout Squabble reeeeally feels like the right place to end Season One of N.O.V.E.L. And with that being the case, we’ve decided that instead of adding any new episodes to Season One, we’d like to REALLY touch up and improve what’s already in it. Like a real final version, know what I mean?

I know what you’re thinking. And firstly, rude.

Secondly, no! This obviously doesn’t mean N.O.V.E.L is over. What it *does* mean, is that Season One is done… or… will be done after the final version is released. This set us up, as well as the game, to be in a better position to deliver the next episode (which will be the start of Season Two) much more smoothly. So... yeah!

Anyways...

What's Different

To cut down on all the nerd/writefag jargon, here are some cliff-notes of what you can expect from the final version:

  • Improved Writing: Going back through the dialogue and scenes to improve quality, with some new scenes sprinkled in to add to the experience.
  • Enhanced Music Tracks: Some new and improved tracks to elevate the atmosphere.
  • Better Experience Overall: Polishing gameplay, dialogues, and interactions for a smoother experience.
  • New “Comic” Section in Archives: (Because we love our little characters and having them in little comics is tons of fun.)

Oh dang, er- Wrong episdode!

Our (really full) Schedule

Here’s a rough outline of what’s next:

  1. Finish and Release the Final Version of Season One.
  2. Release the Canterlot Exchange Demo.
Thankfully, since this has been something that's been planned out for a good while, we can confidently say that the next update will be released on *December 20th*, which would just be a couple of weeks from now for y'all are too lazy to look at a calendar.

Thanks for sticking with us, and see y'all on the next update!
