I mean, there are enough potential LIs already.
Personally I am also not into An at all, the design is pretty nice, but I am really not into Traps, but others will probably like this character.
The only thing I wish for would be an information in the Gallery which scenes are with An. Like a Mouseover with a short description e.g. "Lym in your cabin during the morning" so that you can see that you did not miss a scene but the empty scene in the gallery is a scene with An which you wont get because you did not take him to your Ship.
Full gallery rework is coming in 0.4.1 public with features like that. Along with better sorting and navigation. No more clicking through 8 pages just to get to the latest lewds. Coding on it has begun, but I'm focusing on new content now.

I think it's more of the fact that there's no alternative if I'm understanding correctly. I haven't played the new content yet either but it sounds like you either get a whole new crew member or a one off sex scene. That's the best way of doing it though. I never understood the "I'm missing out on content I don't like" mentality.
Imagine if the choice was new crew member An (trap) or new crew member B (female), the people who like both are going to be mad that they can only choose one.
I'm sure we'll have some new female crew member down the line which caters to some other fetish, and having to keep two different saves to see both their content for the arbitrary reason of "you picked that one" would suck.
So having each optional crew member be a choice of "take it or leave it" works so much better.
I played this game a long time back, when it only had a sandbox mode. According to the Changelog, the previous update added a VN mode. Will the VN & Sandbox mode be updated at the same time and have the same content, or will there be a separate v0.4.0-VN update after this? I'm asking because another sandbox game (Rocking Robin) which later got a VN mode, does alternate updates for VN and Sandbox mode.

If this ends up being the case, then sure I agree. One crew member doesn't mean as much if there's a bunch we can recruit down the line. But as of right now it isn't, and that's why it sucks for some of us. Small issue for me at the end of the day, but a new crew member should be a big exciting thing right? Come to find out they are dedicated to a fetish you don't enjoy, well, you can't expect everyone to love it. While trap stuff isn't super niche these days, I'd still call it a fetish that only a minority of people will enjoy.
Still like the game at the end of the day though.
From the time I played this long ago, I remember my favourite character being the green alien queen. And from recent comments, I can see that a femboy/trap was newly added. I truly appreciate your effort to adding LIs that are varied and a little different from the norm. It's delightful to see more non-standard (but optional) kinks being added in this already fetish stacked game. My flesh noodle and I are excited to play through this again and see all the new content. Thanks for the meal!

Protagonist has biology as one of the possible starting knowledge (& should be able to learn more if dev makes it so if isn't starting with one) & this game is a sci-fi space setting so that rare fetish should be possible, right? Right!?

Honestly not a bad idea, I thought of similar fixes myself. It's not inherently a horrible idea to have your MC to be a top-dog Captain right off the bat, but you have to justify it, at least in my mind.
